What type of writer are you?

  • Exorcist – I need to get these fantasies out or they will drive me crazy
  • Unadventurer – All those Missed opportunities – (If only I had the guts to talk to her/invite him over/kiss him.. sliding doors)
  • Chronicler – Ain’t people wonderful/Wow, All those adventures I had/I’m having
  • Unfulfilled – I really need sex/love
  • Repressed – Suppose all these rules and conventions were relaxed a little bit, boy the fun I'd have
  • Cartoonist – Reality sucks, I want sex with a giant octopus/guy with fangs/giantess
  • Olympian – Reality sucks, I wish we lived in a world of Gods/Goddesses, knights, warriors and princesses
  • Support Groupie – Please tell me I'm not alone in wanting to be peed on/getting aroused by feeding ducks/putting wasabe on my labia
  • Influencer – Love Me, Me, ME!

(Edited to add Support Groupie)

I’m mainly a mixture of an Exorcist/Chronicler, but I’m a bit of all of them. Definitely feel like a Support Groupie sometimes!
Exorcist. And now that my fantasies have subsided, I no longer write (very much).
Although I can't say they were driving me crazy. It was just fun putting them to words.

Time for more fantasies then!

The plot bunnies, the bloody plot bunnies...

repressed for sure. Some of my fantasies and writing does not go inline with the social norm. Understanding it’s not everyone’s cup of tea!

I don't see any stories by you on the Lit side. Do you not publish there?

I’ve never actually had the courage to post any. Personally I think it’s kind of a window into my mind and sole and not sure how I could take criticism on them. Would maybe ruin it for me

You said "courage", rather than "motivation". If you're worried about criticism, that applies to 100% of writers here, if they're honest about it. And for every story there will be people who get it, and people who don't. Just ignore the "don't"s!

@Baddad2004 Listen to the man. Just publish. Thousands have gone before you, and we all had the same worries. The thing is, if you wrote something that you'd like to read there are other people out there will enjoy reading it too. And there will be people who hate it, for any of a hundred reasons. And most people won't even care one way or another, or even know it's out there.

So just submit it for publication, and experience the thrill of hundreds or thousands of strangers spending a short time in a world that you created. And when they've finished reading, like it or hate it, they'll take a bit of that world with them wherever they go. If that isn't enough reason to write and publish, I don't know what is.

All of them, actually. Though if I have to be more precise, I'd pick one of the Six Types of Writers from the Ugly Side of Writing.

The Angry Young Woman.

Adding my own
No term known to me - This story is a thing I saw in my head, I am going to be bold and share it.. do you like it? Yes, yippee I'm not a complete oddball. You don't? Fuck.. well I'll continue to exist as a weirdo.
This… all of this.
I write for myself to explore ideas, then share them. I’m also practicing because when I grow up I want to be a “real” author. 🤣

I try to write stories rather than just scenes. I’m drawn to plot and motivation. The erotic is icing on the cake.

Explorer: To boldly go where no gonads have gone before. To explore strange new erotic experiences; to seek out new titillations and lascivious arousals, the Orgasmic Imperative. With words.

Probably a good part of "Exorcist", but I've been told my writing tends to be a bit "quirky", too.

I was there a few years ago. My stories were much better received than I expected them to be. You never know until you take your shot at it.

Any criticism I've gotten has been very useful for new writing, too.
