Do you think that people use the term "addict/addiction" too loosely?
I realize that it is easy to tell a drug addict and an alcohol addict from a tv "addict"...but are the addictions the same? Is a sex "addict" the same as a person who just enjoys the act of sex? Is there such thing as a chocolate "addict"...or a popcorn "addict"? Are the self-proclaimed internet addicts here really internet addicts or just Literotica addicts?
Are all those things really addictions or just bad habits? Is nail biting an addiction or a bad habit?
Also...if there are all those above mentioned addictions and more...then where would a person go to get help for their TV addiction? or their Literotica addiction? or their spider solitaire addiction?
Does the typical AA/NA meeting cover what a TV addict would need to get cured?
~ Disclaimer for anyone reading this: I am just expanding on a coversation I had with a friend the other day who felt that this term was overused and off base for many of today's bad habits. ~
