Jordan smiled as snippets of the conversation drifted to him. He trusted Molly, but knew how girls chatted. He figured Molly wouldn't do anything to scare Eve away from the party. He smiled as he saw Molly wink at him, then watched as she went back to transforming Eve's hair into something amazing.
Jordan's phone suddenly buzzed. He pulled it out and looked to see a message from his mom.
Jordan. You are expected at a dinner tonight. You can bring a date, but you are to come. Your father is getting honored, and you are to be there. Grace.
Jordan shook his head, then stood up and walked over to where Molly and Eve were chatting.
"Hey Molls, can you excuse us for just a second?," Jordan asked.
Molly didn't say anything, but set her scissors down and went to check her computer.
"Eve, I just got a message from my mom. Apparently there is a dinner tonight as well as this weekend. Would you be willing to go with me? I can pay you for this as well. If you don't want to go, that is also ok," Jordan said, seeming calm. He didn't want to show how much he hoped Eve would say yes, and wanted her to make her own decision.
