Beautiful weekend in the NE US. Mid 40s and sunny. We had 3 sunny days in all of January.

I grew up with the saying , there is no cold weather, just improper clothing. I don’t love the winter, but I can deal with it.

I took down two old ash trees that were dead and bucked three others that came down in the woods.

Today my farmhand will come by and help me split it w my log splitter.

We sell firewood, so that’ll make about 2 -2.5 cords of firewood for us.

Sunshine makes a BIG difference in winter. And layers of clothes are what get me through all kinds of winter weather.

Exactly! I was working so stayed quite warm. I even broke a sweat a few times.

I’m visiting a friend in Wisconsin this week. Normally it’s super cold out and we go snowmobiling, but not this year.

But it’s all about how you dress for the cold.

I feel like at the end of Terminator 2 when he's is in a liquid metal state and freezing up and crumbling. That's what my knees feel like. Heat I can handle The humidity I can not.

That sounds awful..... I am.sorry about your pain.... I totally understand why people go south for the winter

For some - trying to find a balance in the ebb and flow of gender dysphoria is a lifelong, crushing struggle.

There's a little snow about. But, much of the beer was served too cold at the event. A bit more snow falling now. Have to keep up the postcard whiteness of winter.
 
What a weekend… so at 61, I’m still dealing with kids because of starting a family later in life, and on Saturday we had a combined birthday party for my two youngest (one turned 8 late last month, the other turns 9 in a few weeks), it was decided to serve spaghetti (but I couldn’t get a head count ahead of time of course), and I had to make sure there was sauce with no meat because my sister and brother in law are now vegan, plus my wife promised that there would be spaghetti noodles, plus zoodles (zucchini noodles) and broccoli as low carb options for people. It’s been a while since I made zoodles, so I looked for my Vegetti to cut the zoodles with but of course it’s gone, so I used my mandoline to cut the zoodles. Zoodles can’t be boiled because they retain too much moisture so I bake them in the oven at 350 for a half hour or so on a layer of paper towels. I didn’t have time to make a homemade cake, so I bought one instead.

So the party started at 4, and we had to be done by 6 because we had to bring the little ones to friends so my wife and I could have a date night.

For Christmas, since my wife keeps saying she doesn’t want stuff, she wants experiences, I got tickets for us to see Colin Mocari (sp?) and Brad Sherwood performing an improv show that was originally titled “Scarled Scriptless” but was called a different name when we got there.

Parking was crazy until I remembered a parking garage a block down that I parked in, and we got to the theater and found our seats. Now, my wife has diabetes and her sensor warned her that her blood sugar was way too high, so we got some water for her to drink and she set her pump to give her more insulin.

The show started, and it was hilarious, but not long after it returned from intermission, we discovered my wife’s infusion site wasn’t delivering her insulin, and her blood sugar was still off the charts. Then she either passed out or fell asleep, so I got her awake and we had to leave before the end of the show (I hated to miss the rest of it, this was a lot of money to spend), and then I helped keep her steady as we went back to the van.

Once she was inside, she was asleep/passed out again before getting her seatbelt on, so as I raced home, every time I turned right I had to hold her up. I also called my teenage daughter at home to get everything out so I could get everything redone for insulin as soon as we got home.

Got home, helped her in, prepared a new insulin cartridge and installed it in her pump as she installed a new infusion site, and once I was satisfied she was getting insulin, I left to pick up the younger kids and get them home and to bed.

It was after midnight before we got to bed, and one of the younger kids had their ass out of bed before eight!

Today I had to go to the store again (I had gone there Saturday morning already) to buy all the things nobody remembered we needed until after the first trip, then we went to this animal experience place because they had baby capybaras as well as a one year old kangaroo, then home to have leftover spaghetti for dinner…

Damn I’m ready to go back to work tomorrow!

Hey everyone. You should all get on TRT/HRT like me. I estimate it will give me another 20 years of quality life. Yeah, it's that good. And, it'll really piss off the Millennials as they expect us to be gone soon but nope, we'll be around for a lot longer having fun fucking in the sun.

Morning everyone, it's a public holiday here in Ireland in aid of St Brigit, she of the famous crosses.
No rest for us naughty non believers, I'm on nights tonight so need to go back to sleep, don't disturb me. ;)
