I can't remember the last time I was in a movie theater. Because my husband was hearing impaired and we couldn't be sure they had the type of equipment he needed, we just watched movies at home. He put a surround sound system in the family room, aka his man cave. So much more comfortable and we could have our own snacks!

I scheduled 6 city inspections yesterday. I got three, two called to postpone until today, and one never called nor showed. :mad: I did pass the three that came out, no issues. Fuckin' city.

I think I’ve relayed the story of how I had an MRI and found out I was claustrophobic 😮🤣…

I bought a new laptop early this year because I was afraid my old 2007 one was about to go out on me. It has Win 11 Home, which I'm still getting used to. I'm on my tablet more than the computer.

The hurricane made the turn and headed out towards Bermuda. Never heard if caught anything from it but I think it was only a Cat 1 and moving at a normal clip. We had some rain, heavy at times, but not like the bands we usually see with hurricane activity. Hardly any wind inland and oddly it cooled things down? Usually after a hurricane rips through it’s muggy.

The meeting was okay. Wat had lots of little old ladies to charm. He'll end up with a dozen girlfriends before all is said and done. One volunteered to cook for him and the other wanted him to check out all of her thousands of books. Meanwhile, got a bit of facetime with the PM. It seems that Wat's replacement at the former job . . . isn't. Allah knows that they're doing over there, but ain't much getting done. If Wat has to go back . . . .

That was my Friday night and Saturday. It’s been a tough couple days.

Small world backstory. In a prior life, the company I worked for used a metal polisher and plating company as a vendor. The owner was a character and his shop was in a very rough part of Newark. He hired ex cons, outcasts, people down on their luck and two bikers named Tiny and Sonny. They were in a club called Heavy Metal MC. I think they were affiliated with The Pagans.

The owner was a character. I wouldn’t have thought of that company again really, but a good friend at works wife’s father was the owner. Small world!

So I kept tabs on Gene thru my friend at work. And he passed away last week. So I got to pay my respects to him and the family at a viewing on Friday night. My friends’ wife really loved some of the colorful stories we had abt her dad! And there were many!

Saturday morning, i visited my friend in rehab. He has bad MS and had a super bad flare up 10 days ago. His right leg is basically deadweight. He lost most use of his right arm and hand. But I was glad to see him and make him laugh. Brought a few books for him. Just hoping he can regain some use of his limbs and get back home.

Went from there and met my wife at the local small airport where they had a really nice memorial for my buddy who passed away last week in a small airplane crash. A number of people eulogized him including me. He touched a lot of people and was a great man. He will be missed dearly. Mrs wonderer and his wife are very close friends.

I had to take some cherry wood to the local sawmill to get sliced up into 3” boards. It was a good distraction. Big 20-25” diameter logs.

And last nite we had a small fire and drank some beer.

The first annual Moonshine Festival was a blast!
The turnout was a bit light, as it overlapped with Bikes, Blues, and BBQ (which has evolved into the 2nd biggest biker rally in the US) but we met some really good quality people!
There were some really great musicians as well!
