The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Believe me, 16,000+ PSI, coming out of a 6-8 inch hole, sounds as if the hounds of hell have been turned loose. I've been there and it automatically kicks one into "fight or flight mode"... with nowhere to go.
So one's first thought in that moment would naturally be, "Let me get this on camera" 😮

Hard for me to even imagine 16,000 PSI. I mean, my car tires only take around 35

Another day with not much accomplished. Although, did dig the rock that started popping up in the driveway out. Think beach ball sized rock. Leverage pried it out, but had to start the tractor to haul it away. Little bit of cleaning in the garage, and then some visiting with family in town.

Now it's feeling SO darn late. Time for a shower and maybe bed!

Good night everyone.

I don't recall if "blowout" was what I was seeking, but it was something that sparked during your Oil Rig 101 discussions with this landlubber. :ROFLMAO:

There are some wild video clips from Oil Rigs out there on the tube

The only blowout I've seen was in the Hollywood mvoie, "Deepwater Horizon". Every interview I've seen of a Hollywood director quotes them as saying something to the effect of, "We researched to make this as close to reality as we could". Doesn't mean they achieved their objective. And I have 0 personal knowledge to call out anything contrary to reality.
The bad thing about the Deepwater Horizon blowout was that it found an ignition source....
The rig I was servicing didn't, thank God!

IIRC that ignition source was the diesel generator blew up. If a diesel engine can suck in extra fuel it doesn't stop. It just runs faster, can overspend and potentially blow up. I recall hearing that gas (methane or whatever) enveloped the engine and fed it to the point of destruction, which was the cause of the ignition of the whole thing.

Absolutely.

Runaway diesel BAD! 🤣

I really don't want to find out... scroti or other tasty bits
Okay - everyone knows I just had to look that up.
You'll all be relieved to know that even the most... impressive... dangly bits are safe :ROFLMAO:

Highest jumping fish

Mako shark

The Isurus oxyrinchus is the world’s fastest shark, recorded at speeds of around 40 kilometres an hour, with bursts of up to 74 kilometres an hour. But more impressively, the mako is also the highest jumping fish, able to breach an astonishing nine metres out of the water!
