There’s a county in NJ right next to NYC that still has blue laws enacted. Nothing open on Sunday.

I went over yesterday morning and just reloaded mine. I have saved a ton of Avatars as I used to change them monthly on our company board.

When I checked this morning they had put it back. I wasn’t even showing my man-boobs!😂. Not even some side booooob!

They had the same thing when I lived in Germany (doubt they were called Blue Laws) so you had to plan to get your groceries before 4 pm on Sat if you needed anything on Sunday.

The funny thing is, once we got used to it…we kind of liked the slower pace of life. Wife and I both had a little culture shock coming back to the states and the 24/7 pace.

Keto diet is something we can do right off the bat. I’m weaning her off the Sweet&Low and any other chemical crap she has laying about. Thanks for the insight. I’m sure we’ll be on a first name basis with her Oncologist.

Well…about ten mins after I made my post from yesterday, I get a call from my DiL saying grandmommy fell! I went over and Miss Just Had a Hysterectomy decided she was going to fix her TeeVee, went to unplug it, lost her balance and toppled over onto her side…all while holding her tummy so as not to break the stitches! 🤨.

I spent the better part of the day at the ER, going through test, X-rays, and a CT scan. Nothing worse than a bruised back and pain. She dodged a bullet on that one. So I lectured her on letting everyone help till she is able to get up and off these meds that make her dizzy. Mothers…

Thank God she is OK after her fall!!!
I've seen the "stubbornness" for lack of a better word, as the independence is the most difficult thing for the elderly to turn loose of.
I'm glad she has you and please send her my heartfelt best wishes!

Totally. I was in Germany and France two years ago, and I just had the most peaceful Sunday morning, just walking and enjoying the morning.

Restaurants are open on Sundays, but that’s about it…

I agree, I really liked it!

Well, I’m glad she’s OK and yeah… Old people and stubbornness…

My mom was the worst! My dad called it cussedness.

You just have to find where that avatar photo is now LOL. Laurel and Manu are awarenof the glitch and are approving new avatars tout suite.

I've seen this sort of thing happen on the site several times over the years. It honestly didn't surprise me that it's happening again. The political changes may be playing a part in this, but I'm sure it's not the only reason.

There have been clampdowns on nudity in the past, and I have been wondering when it was going to happen again. The cycle seems to be a few warnings posted, some moderator actions, some grumbling, then things settle down again. This isn't the first time, and won't be the last.

But honestly, I can't blame or fault the site owners for wanting to make this place what they want it to be. They own it, they fund it, they operate it. It's theirs to do with as they please. I've met a lot of very interesting, fun, and amazing people here over the years. This site has also helped me in many ways. If the owners want to protect themselves for changing political climate or change it for whatever reasons they choose, I have zero say in the matter. I'm still able to meet and interact with wonderful people here.

If anyone is upset about the changes, I'd suggest stepping back and looking at what we get here, for free. If anyone on this particular thread is upset, take a look at how we operate here, on this thread. We enforce our own set of rules and abide by them, and we protect it from others that would disrupt the vibe. (We do this on someone else's servers, for free.)

Imagine having to enforce that for a whole site while protecting yourself from any legal consequences, while paying the bills for the servers.

I enjoy interacting with the people I've met here. If a few changes happen in the process, I'm willing to live with them to continue interact with them and all of you here.
