The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

The though crossed my mind in the 77 picture that school might have been cancelled.
Remember those days??

When I first started working where I work now, it was an old-school insurance company. And when the weather was bad, they actually closed the office. There was no expectation to work from home.

Like… It was a fucking snow day!

Now every day is like a work from home day… which is sort of good and sort of bad…

Good morning spooners.

Well, the big leadership sales conference was a success! But it was exhausting. I got home last night and just couldn’t think. My wife was good about it. She normally likes to catch up after a day of work, but she could see that I was fried and so we just watched some TV. I couldn’t really deal with any more people or any conversation. I was peopled out after being “on” for three straight days.

I was supposed to attend a broker breakfast this morning in Philly. But I didn’t feel like it so I didn’t go. Fuck it.

Instead, I have another project beckoning and a shit load of follow ups.

I’ll catch yaz all on the rebound!

There is good and bad to working from home. I designed industrial control systems and working at home was the best way to get the design and programming done. Finishing the job requried going into work or travelling to where ever to start the project up.
I also had friends I played cards with and we made it a priority to play cards during bad snow storms.

I have an idea where you live and work. Do you commute into NYC?

Bummer b2. Sorry to hear of your car woes.

Had the same thing happened to my lawnmower once…
I found peppermint extract and peppermint tea. They apparently don’t like the smell. Later I am checking out options at the auto stores. And fortunately I could not find any way they could be getting into the garage. So maybe my habit of leaving the garage door open was the source of the problem.

I agree. I work from home or work 2 to 3 days a week. (to be clear, I work five days a week! 😂). I like working from home to really focus and get some work done and not be distracted. I like going to the office to be more distracted and to be more outgoing and social. And even if it’s not just for sake, collaborating, and working with others is always fun, I find.

Or I find a way to make it fun.

I work in NYC every two months or so. It is not my main office.

My office is more in central Jersey.
I commuted from Edison to Manhatten for a couple of years. That was back when they were adding 6 lanes to the north end of the NJTP, which waa quite a project. I was hopping you were not having to go thru that commute but it might not be as bad now. Back then you could not see lower Manhatten from the turnpike because of the smog.

I am not touching that one!

Another White Rabbit Day today
I feel like my catch-up is "Late, I'm late..."
But here we go...
I had to take it in and have the whole.thing rewired... but it was covered under insurance. I would check. Then I would kill every rodent that may even think of entering your domain. Put out rat poison and a dish of water... the water activates the poison faster and they die faster

TDK and Ethyl killed Wat's mouse, and they had a very good time doing it. They wouldn't let Panther participate, poor boy.

South of me got a lot. We got about fifteen minutes of rain. That was it
😍 you didn't get a whole lot

There is a Crazy Cat Lady who feeds her feral charges over that way. Yesterday, I saw that the Canada geese have discovered the kibble stash. Lots of geese.
 Hmm, what do cats eat that Canadian geese do not?
Well, geese mainly eat a plant-based diet while cats love meat and fish...
It’s cool but some wildfire air quality issues this morning. I am still going for a walk.
Be safe - mask up if you have them - they can help filter out the particulates that make breathing difficult on these smoky, hazy days 🫂

Nope - not where I lived back in 1977.
-20F temps with -40F wind chills would, but not snow  😂
Hi, friends. I have a numerically significant birthday in August. Any suggestions for ways to celebrate? (I mean, other than cookin' up some good food at our greasy spoon!)
Take a trip? Maybe a train trip like the Empire builder?
If you can swing it, an around the world trip?
Hot air balloon?
House concert?
You should definitely scratch something off your bucket list.
Noor had good ideas!
Maybe a nice vacation to somewhere exotic or a private beach kinda thing.
Have some fun. Happy birthday in advance.
All excellent ideas! Bucket List
Find your joy, your passion... and tap into it 🥰
Happy Birthday!!! 🎂
I have a numerically insignificant day in august...hahaha
Happy Birthday to you, too, @Missk_2022 🥳

🎉 Win Column. Hopefully between chopping wood, planting/harvesting, mowing lawns, and everything else you do on weekends... you can find some down time to rest and recharge!
Off on a m8ni vacation with my nephew before he heads back to school in WI.... I will check in..xx
Have a marvelous time!!
So maybe my habit of leaving the garage door open was the source of the problem.
It's a great way to invite burglars into your home, too, from what I've read.
Dear gods, please don’t let that damn kitten be angry with me
It's Friday - pick up some fresh fish on the way home??
