Sounds like you had quite the recovery!!
Not the same - but I was in a car accident (25 years ago??). Had a 10# limit. My 1st nibling was born days after the accident. 10# baby. I had to be propped by pillows and monitored just to hold him for a few minutes.
But you don't realize how many things are 5# or 10# until you have a restriction like that... one with a very painful reminder if you... miscalculate.

Also ice, learn to love ice.

Especially since the meds tend to wear off a bit before the next dose. And @Noor is absolutely right about Chasing Pain. No bueno - don't do it!

I can too, but I have ehlers danlos and we aren’t really supposed to do party tricks.
I used to get my backpack off by subluxing my shoulders!

Also you can’t lift more than so many pounds or you’ll pop you stitches. Mine was 5 lbs and the first thing I did was fall out of bed and try to get up. I weight more than 5 lbs, so does a gallon of milk , a Pyrex full of 8 cups of water and some oven and fish washer doors. One of my brothers went around weighting everything and putting anything over 5 lbs beyond my reach. I did pop an internal stitch which meant a lot of more tests, but I did ok, the bruise was something else though since it came from deep within.

Thanks for all of your knowledge sharing... some of it reminds me of hernia surgery... I've had two bilateral and one single.

Actually, there's a fairly good age gap between me and my oldest brother.
One of my first childhood memories is one of his friends, swinging me around by the arms in circles. He thought I was screaming with excitement, but I was screaming in pain, as both shoulders were out of socket.... I've always thought that might have something to do with my "special skill."

Harder to keep fresh produce, I'm guessing.
Lots of meats and sweets can be frozen or shelf-stable.

Oddly enough, 25 years on these boats and the best, freshest produce I've eaten was when I worked in the arctic circle out of Dutch Harbor, Alaska.

So calm and still with the riptide up and the river full. I am so blessed to look out on this every day. And then away to the hills later to fish in my happy place!

Yes, confined to uterus. They also said it was slow moving, so that is a relief. We’re hoping the hysterectomy gets all the evil out of her.

I’ve lost too many family members to cancer. Don’t want to lose another.

So true. After my late wife died of a rare bile duct cancer, I was petrified hearing I had prostate cancer. It’s very slow growing we are surveillance.

My BIL went early for a colonoscopy around mid to late 40s and they found it in him, but they were able to take it out. It looked like cauliflower.

You weren't able to get your talked out?

Glad they did. Colonoscopy not the pleas test experience as I found out three weeks ago but necessary
