The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Also you can’t lift more than so many pounds or you’ll pop you stitches. Mine was 5 lbs and the first thing I did was fall out of bed and try to get up. I weight more than 5 lbs, so does a gallon of milk , a Pyrex full of 8 cups of water and some oven and fish washer doors. One of my brothers went around weighting everything and putting anything over 5 lbs beyond my reach. I did pop an internal stitch which meant a lot of more tests, but I did ok, the bruise was something else though since it came from deep within.
One last thing, I found the hystersister website very handy, they have a section for various reason for surgery and they will send progress emails for your type as to what to expect as you go along. There is also a forum to chat. Also ice, learn to love ice. If you do 20 mins every hour for 6 hrs , you get fairly numb, I actually slept with ice after I pulled the stitch, Youre not supposed to do this but I did ok, I put a wash cloth between me and the ice so it froze slower. The only pain killer I took was hydromorphone because it was that or fentanyl. Best advice I got was don’t let the pain build up because then it takes more meds to get it down, grim and bearing it doesn’t get you better any faster and probably slows you down.
i didn’t get addicted even after several weeks of 2 tablets 4x day, and had no problem going off. I just needed it less and less until I didn’t, pain seems to eat meds. Tramodal is a joke.

Mom broke her hip Monday, had surgery on it Tues and was walking on it some this morning. Thanks!

I hope 🙏 everything works out well for your mom as well!

My wife has had some issues too, but received a STELLAR report today!!
They do get you moving fast after those joint surgeries.
So happy to hear good news for your wife.
🫂🙏for all of you!!
I have a pair... love them
The travel essentials one in moss green
Have you thought to try wearing one during a storm to see if it helps any?

Sounds like you had quite the recovery!!
Not the same - but I was in a car accident (25 years ago??). Had a 10# limit. My 1st nibling was born days after the accident. 10# baby. I had to be propped by pillows and monitored just to hold him for a few minutes.
But you don't realize how many things are 5# or 10# until you have a restriction like that... one with a very painful reminder if you... miscalculate. 😬

Also ice, learn to love ice.
2 time knee replacement chiming in. could not agree MORE 🧊 🧊 🧊 🧊 🧊 🧊
Especially since the meds tend to wear off a bit before the next dose. And @Noor is absolutely right about Chasing Pain. No bueno - don't do it!

Thanks for all of your knowledge sharing... some of it reminds me of hernia surgery... I've had two bilateral and one single.

Tell me you're the life of the party without telling me... :ROFLMAO:
Actually, there's a fairly good age gap between me and my oldest brother.
One of my first childhood memories is one of his friends, swinging me around by the arms in circles. He thought I was screaming with excitement, but I was screaming in pain, as both shoulders were out of socket.... I've always thought that might have something to do with my "special skill." 🤣

A long day yesterday getting work done in the garden … I was so tired I slept till 06.30 am this morning. And what a day to be out walking the boys up the hill. So calm and still with the riptide up and the river full. I am so blessed to look out on this every day. And then away to the hills later to fish in my happy place!
