The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

I'm not dissing the movie in any way - I'd just like to see @Wonderer67 in that outfit is all. 🤭 Playing his cups. LOL
Why do I have to dress up to play the cups???

True story: At our 40 yr HS reunion a few weeks ago, this one hippy dude played the bowls.

It was fucking awful. I have no fuckin idea why that guy thought it would be good or the right venue for this kinda stuff.

But remembering that hippy dead-head kinda guy from 1982-85, it fit.

(Shakes head)

I have a bit of expertise in this field, enough to say that, make sure you keep your OS up to date, it’s the only way you can make sure that the latest known hacks have been patched.
Agree for the ones on the 'net.
Many here aren't allowed to talk to the outside world. The XP boxes just run a machine, etc.

You don't have to... I just like seeing people dressed up in ridiculous outfits (having had to wear a few in my day) :ROFLMAO:

Yeah - some people are kind of stuck in grade school or high school forever it seems. The body continues to age but they never mature and grow as a person past a certain point. I graduated w/ a few stellar examples myself.

I have the same issues, some even lost the source code for their apps šŸ™„ and have to run a hodge podge of really really old crap!

I just hope they don’t have an internal smart ass who knows what he (or she) is doing! 🤷

Oh dear, here goes my mind, you in a ridiculous Bavarian beer guzzling chick!

Yeah, ridiculous…shwing!!!! 🤣

I grew up in a house built in 1876 in Nj. I get this TOTALLY!!
Solid.
The tile work in the bathrooms did not need caulk. Wood work was amazing to just sit and look at. And the plumbing in the basement was a bit like art in one. The other had a coal fired burner removed and work done after that was not by the same kind of craftsman as the original work.

Wow, 8 Tracks, love it, great sound for the time, but so impractical. I had a friend who built frames for old 4tracks and 8tracks, I think 50 or so fit, fun stuff.

If i started digitizing my albums, i would need a few years! I did convert to MP3 my CDs a few thousand of em! That took a while! 🤭
I have a few shirt boxes full of photos that go back as early as the 20's and earlier family portrait photos 1898. I have them organized a bit so they don't wear against each other. But scanning them in became to feel impossible. As scanning wasn't too bad. Cropping the photos out of the 5 or 6 I can fit on the scanner bed got so monotonous I never finished scanning them all or cropping them. I need to do that. The photos are cool as that age is rare to see anymore. They just drove out in the country and picked berries. Like there wasn't any fences or anything. They looked dressed up everyday too.

Yours sound interesting and fun. I have 3 PC and an old laptop. The rest are all virtual, a dozen or more. I keep them up. I used to use them as goats. Try stuff I needed to at work so I could find what broke and avoid it while others were watching. Much easier to expect perfection if you aren't making stupid mistakes. Upgrading servers is the real annoyance for me. I usually just build a new one and migrate data and services.

Reminds me of one of the houses we lived in growing up. 1922 Tudor
Built-in woodwork
Leaded glass
Oil furnace - converted from the original coal furnace
Still had the original Coal Room but the external access door had been closed over.

There was no electric in that room so hard to see, but still had the cinderblock partial walls for channeling the coal from the exterior wall/door to where you would load a barrow to wheel down to the furnace room.

Dad loved snicking pieces of coal from that room and putting them in our stockings as a joke at the holidays.

heh heh. Last one of those I had was the Nikon Super Coolscan with 40slide feeder attachment. The drivers for that were so old they were last updated for W95. I bootlegged a copy of Adobe CS4 and was able to use some dll's from there to keep it alive long enough to scan ~28,000 slide photos my family and several friends collections. Was amazed when I sold it how simple it was. It's discontinued and nothing else like it on the market. I got 2500$ for it. I originally found it on craigslist from a guy in Collingswood NJ for 600$.
W95 and now win10, worthless and they managed to obsolete hardware this time.

VMware makes moving and upgrading servers easier, sometimes.
Moving yes. Upgrading windows server isn't worth the trouble. Even in business when I upgraded the management server Tricking the 9000 agents or 180,000 agents into speaking the the new server was just engineering.
Upgrading windows server was always too much trouble to figure out which parts Microsoft upgraded and which parts did not but need to be modified for the software to continue working. The Win10 to 11 upgrade was pretty uneventful. With that my problems was getting used to clicking 3 times where before I only had to click once.
