The 50 Plus Cafe, Pub, All-Nite Greasy Spoon and Dive Bar

Greetings all...
Took a bit to catch up today... here we go

Day two of the second week is done. We were supposed to be outdoors today. The instructor called off field training given 30mph winds and snow flurries.
Because... you're not going to ever drive in these conditions? Asking for a friend
Her is a haiku for Wonderer67

Pumpkins gourds and firewood
Farmsteads give us abundance
Now just waiting for spring
These are wonderful... thank you so much for kicking off Haiku Appreciation Day!!

Here's one for @Wat_Tyler

Wat hums through the day,
Weasels' mischief slows the flow,
Poodles run, cats watch.
Another classic blunder. I just asked my wife if she was jealous of the cat. IMMEDIATELY I asked her not to answer that.
For Pete's Sake... whatever you do, make sure you answer "No, dear" to any questions asking if her ass looks big in something (jeans, skirt, dress) 😬
As a lifelong "healthy insomniac" with no biorhythms left, I'm a firm believer that EVERYONE should get to enjoy siesta!
A 1½ hour nap, midday, is a game changer!
16 year old me was very frustrated with the Spanish siesta which slowed down a huge portion of the day.
56 year old me says, "Hell yes!!" 🥰
subversive group of frolickers
Oooh... so much potential for a fantastic band name!!!
I love this movie! 🥰
I liked a lot of the behind the scenes stuff more... like how they landed on the accent for the main character.
Red wine in the refrigerator!! Are there no depths to which America will not sink? You'll be getting cheese in a can next! ;)
Wait until it comes in a box!

Or a carouse?
I thought that was reserved for cruises? 🤨 🛳️
I don’t do broccoli too much iron!
Then you know to be cautious with beets, too, right?
Aaargh!! Coffee abuse!!!
I guess it depends on the size of the beet!

I just realized, I've been on midnight to noon, but today, I'm supposed to start noon to midnight... I'm beginning to smell a 24 hour day in my immediate future...
Who does the scheduling? And have they been yeeted overboard yet?
This old man says 8 not 9! Got to consider your fury companion.
Freudian slip?
Earlier bedtime was great - need to make that more of a regular thing
Agree and they did not listen to me either. I was glad to retire.
Sounds like the last place I worked. Heard they implemented the 3 FTE multi-departmental team I said they needed for the job I was doing single-handedly. So glad they listened.
Good morning denizens of the diner. No rain or snow yet but warning are coming fast and furious: floods, ice storms to the north, high winds to the south later this evening.
Snow overnight here. Won't stick around long, but better than rain since the ground is still pretty frozen
I was good at shots...
You never even felt it....or so I have been told
Super Power!!
Apple meet tree
So much truth there!
I want to hurkle durkle
Please do me
I forget what I was going to say for both of these... but they kind of work back-to-back like that 🤭
Looks like possibly a gypsy moth, but I think our likes2 resident anthropologist would have to give you a definitive answer
No background in entomology. Here's what a bit of internet sleuthing turned up:

Initial inquiries pointed to two options:
a Pink-Spotted Hawkmoth (Agrius cingulata) but with the wings closed it's difficult to tell if this one has enough of the pink coloring. Even though we can't see much of the pink, the region for this one matches better.

That then led to this guy:
Waved Sphinx (Ceratomia undulosa)
I'm not convinced though because of the region these are typically found: El Paso County and Pikes Peak, Colorado.
Yep have one of those too
I seriously worry about you people

Hmmm. My youngest keeps telling me April fools was yesterday. I guess "dad mode" is in overdrive today.

Taking Mrs. M to Sephora and I need another bottle of rum. Probably go to Texas Roadhouse if the weather doesn't get too bad.

Going to boil a bunch of chicken for them to use while I'm working this weekend. Probably save the broth for something next week. Spanish rice and refried beans most likely.
