I think that all to often our role playing slips into some common, dare I say cliche themes, eliminating the chance to really express ourselves in ways we don't get to in our average days. I think there are probably 5 general themes. Here's my first, anybody else have a thought on this?

1.The Caught Theme:
In this one, someone either walks in on someone naked, touching themself or having sex. An erotic adventure ensues.

second scenario

This is going to be one of those days during which I reply to myself over and over again.

Here's scenario number 2:

2.The Business Trip:
Oh no! The hotel messed up the plans, we've got to share a hotel room tonight and there's only one bed. She would never ask you to sleep on the floor and it is a king sooo. And erotic adventures ensue.

Hmm, I'm curious if you have misspoke or perhaps you actually express yourself on your average day in the scenarios outlined. ;) Don't know about you, but I don't in RL often happen to walk in on people having sex ensuing in an erotic adventure.

never like that in real life

Nope, I must have written my thought incorrectly. I meant that real life is nothing like the cinemax stories you often read told in here and that's what makes them so fun to read.

Lets hear em'

I think the one where an emergency forces you together is pretty common. Like:
a snowstorm
a hurricane
your injured and can't bath yourself so your hot swedish maid has to etc.

Yep, how true. If we did even a fraction of what some of these tales outline, we'd be thought incredibly perverted, sick individuals by most. :)

I was waiting to see what you thought were the definitive "five most common scenarios" written in this forum.

I've read articles that purport there to be only seven basic plotlines in literature, though others maintain there are twenty and others, thirty six! I suppose that is where we, as writers, come in... Given that there are just "so many" scenarios, it is our creativity and imagination that keeps it all from being sameold/sameold.

Depending on the active group of writers at any given time on this forum, I think it's not so much the scenario as the type of story that directs the scenarios that are chosen and elaborated on.

Here at Lit, as well as on other sites, roleplay is a way to play out fantasies and experiment with lifestyles we possibly do not have the opportunity or even desire to realize in our everyday lives. Writers can be who/when/where and what they choose to be. It's a safe way to act out those things that tickle our libido, which is, after all, derived from Latin libidin-, libido (desire, lust) and from libEre (to please).

And so the scenario thickens... ;)

I'd like to add that old standard of the innocent being forced against his/her will to perform sexually -- ultimately being given permission to do what they would really like by having someone make those decisions for them. It's a power trip.

I probably didn't say anything that made sense, but I have to run. I normally have sex 24/7 and I've already missed a session or ten.

I'll add the following to the list:

1) Incest of some type (brother/sister, parent/child)
2) Abductions
3) Blackmailed into sex
4) Sci-fi involving aliens
5) Group sex
6) Swapping

I can't recall who said it but I do recall reading, "Every possible story has already been told. All that can be done is to retell them using different words."

Think about basic plots. Can you think of a plot that hasn't already been written in some form or other whether play or book?

I can't and I've tried.

I agree, PP. It's just the genre and character types that change from scenario to scenario.

S* Nice to have MoM agree with me. It lends a degree of respecibility to my thoughts. *chuckling*

 Now THAT is a scary thought. Why I'm... despicable.

And I thought you said somewhere that I was twisted? Ooh... and speaking of which, I have this scathingly brilliant idea (with a twist). Okay, so it's not scathingly brilliant -- maybe just fun and a way to exercise our collective creativity -- but it IS twisted. ;)

Look for it later today. :D

Ummm and the problem with being "twisted" is what?? *g* I don't see any.

I will indeed and hope you'll PM me so I know when and where to look for it as I have a doc app't and have to take off shortly.

So what category would the following scenario fall under?
----------------------------------------------------

A super model, dressed in a tiny bikini, is on her way to a bowling championship when she gets caught in a terrible blizzard in the mountains.

Her car slids off the road and crashes down into a deep ravine. But fortunately an abominable snowman stumbles on her and takes her to his ice cave, where he wraps her in furs.

Alone, together with the abominable snowman, in the ice cave things take an unexpected turn and they fall deeply in love..

That's that old "emergency forces you together thang".

It's your creativity that gave it something different though, see? And ooh... a sort of twist on "Beauty and the Beast" too? Not to mention action/thriller/sci-fi/fantasy genres thrown in (and is that bestiality? )

All right, I might not buy a copy or pay to see the flick, but I might borrow it from someone for curiositie's sake. ;)
