It was an awful movie with Hayden Christianson. It was kinda painful to try and watch. And had virtually nothing to do with the source material.

You're kidding! Here I was making a shocking groaner pun on the name of his work, and they made a recent movie with little Darth Vader in it? That's hilarious.

There is in fact a Pasolini Decameron made in 1970 which was an episodic soft porn movie. Back in the day it used to circulate as a double feature with Emmanuelle. All I remember was a scene of a couple fucking on a rocky beach (as you do in Italy, I guess) as the tide came in, her orgasm timed to the peak of the tide lapping at their feet. Cudos to the actors, it must have been bloody cold. And a chick in a hay wagon with big boobs.

Anything with Michelle Pfeiffer though... .

Personally, I'd love to see the Decameron done as a movie faithful to the book. Partying nobles in a villa, telling one another raunchy stories that because vignettes in the movie. The tale of the priest and the maiden in the desert would be hysterical.
