Keep avoiding it. The one I'm talking about has a title that is one of only a very few things Lit will not publish.

It ( and the identical spam posted all over the forum ) has already been reported, so there's no need to even open the thread to do that.

I have contacted Chargergirl and Garnate and they are deleting the threads in their forums he is also posting thread after thread simply saying "I'm a sick fuck" he's got all the mods hopping

he will be gone as soon as Laurel goes back on line to the 50 messages she probably has.

If someone sees this and has not clicked on that thread.

Do yourself a favor and don't.

There's not much in life that can sicken me, but this did the trick.

Ten of his threads have already been nuked in forums that have moderators assigned, and I'm sure more will go down soon in the other moderated forums.

It's times like this when I really wish there were a couple of super moderators who could take emergency action in any forum when Laurel isn't available.

I agree I think they should be able to but only in extreme situations...like this.

Or the other painfully obvious spam assaults we've endured.

By the way, anyone who did open the thread might want to clear their internet cache and temporary files.

They must be out for dinner, otherwise they'd be all over this shit.

The scumbag is doubling down, now. Two thirds of the threads have been deleted, but until Laurel goes Thor and smashes him with the ban hammer, take note of the cretin's name and don't open any thread he starts.

I was wondering what you were talking about, but then I saw it. Creepy.

What's wrong with people?

ugh...I opened it thinking it was a discussion thread, and I was going to post "WTF, haven't we beaten this topic to death? Not here, not ever, go away!" I was not expecting pics to make you puke. *shudder* Now I want to rinse my eyeballs with bleach. I messaged Laurel before I saw this warning thread. Glad other mods are taking care of their own threads. We don't have a mod for AH? Or they just haven't seen it?

Laurel and Manu need to let a few trusted Mods have a banhammer for situations like this.

I've long thought the AH should be moderated period.

Cut off the pissing matches before they end up twelve pages long and the original topic is long lost in the morass. Move the crap to its own thread, or if the original topic has played out, close the thing to end the bleeding.

But even having a couple of super-mods with an emergency ban-hammer to specifically deal with marathon spammers like this scumbag would have saved us many, many times.

I'd like to see them open a Flamethrower thread, and when the usual suspects get into it and it's off topic for the thread their posts could be moved there for them to continue their "discussion". That way, they aren't silenced, they can continue if they want, and anyone who chooses to watch them duke it out could make themselves a bowl of popcorn and have ringside seats :D

Why are the two of them still up?

I'd say that it's because anyone who could take it down is asleep, but the daily stories haven't posted yet, so, presumably, Laurel is still working. Folks have said they've notified her. Hasn't been a problem for me. I saw the "don't look" thread in time just to give it a pass altogether.

Some of the stories are posting, but they were pre-approved a few hours ago. ( Like mine... which I need to update in my sig )

Laurel's the only one who can deal with the threads here and on the GB, as well as deal with the jackhole permanently. Until she hops on the site and sees the reports, those threads are going to be here.

They're gone now, if you meant the "underage porn" threads I noticed a few hours ago.

So, someone's on the ball. ;)

at 12:45 Tio said these were still up-I am assuming the AH and GB as they are the unmoderated forums.

I would not consider the fact that this filth was live on the site for 5 hours on the ball.

The mods, Chargergirl, Garnate, Ruby and I am sure others spent hours chasing this asshole around their boards doing the best they could, had they had the ability to ban under emergencies like this, it would have been over in minutes.

Maybe Laurel feels if she gives that ability to someone they will ban people for little reason. Mods are people, they have friends here and people they don't like and topics they don't like, maybe she figures they would ban people for personal reasons.

But I think for kiddie Porn there should be an exception, that's not a flame war or someone being insulting or just being a flat out jerk, this is goddamn federal crime we're talking.

There should be a "break in case of emergency" ban hammer.

Tell you what though....there was a small(very small) part of me that wishes one of the threads was left here.

That way when another thread starts about "what's wrong with under age sex and why can't we write it and blah blah blah....we could link that post in their thread so everyone could get a good look at what the site would turn into if it was allowed.

That second picture in that thread....wtf? and not only wtf with anyone that can find that arousing, but what the fuck is wrong with the women who were in that picture with that child?

I keep saying emergency ban-hammer, but my original post would be almost as effective. Allowing one or two mods the ability to jump to any forum and remove threads would have served the same purpose.

It would be frustrating for those couple of mods, as evidenced by the two who stayed on point, deleting everything within their sphere of influence last night. Frustrating, but I think they would have knuckled down and been happy to have held back the scumbaggery until Laurel could deal with him.

That's not nearly as much power to trust someone with. I assume that threads deleted by moderators aren't actually deleted, but rather moved into a mod queue forum, where Laurel has the final say. She can either send them into the void, or return them to where they came from in the event of an overreach.

At least, that's been the standard on forum software for a while. I know we've had this version of the forum for a while because of the infrastructure upgrades, but I think it's new enough to have that feature standard, or at least available.

Under those conditions, a super-mod going rogue can't do any permanent damage, but one doing their duty can do a whole hell of a lot of good.

Don't think I would ... but thanks for the tip!!! UGH.

I hope Laurel sent the posts and all ISP data to the FBI.

Probably won't do much good. The poster claimed to be from an old Soviet state ( I think I'm remembering that right ) in some of the posts, and coming in through a TOR node. The broken English makes me suspect that was the truth.

He could probably be tracked down, but one scumbag from outside the country posting illegal pics on a porn board isn't going to attract much in the way of resources.

I backed out pretty quick, but did wonder if photoshop was involved.
