"I'm thankful for...": the Lit version

Great idea, @StillStunned.

I was raised in a very strict religious household, and taught any sexual desires beyond "one man, one woman, one marriage" were immoral and a sin.

Im far, far beyond that now of course. Left that behind ages ago.

But I'm thankful to have found a community made up of people of all ages and walks of life who all have one thing in common: embracing our sexual nature.

Oh sure, we may not agree on lots of other things and yeah, i too am thankful for the mute button.

But overall I get along with most here and have made a few good friends in particular. And its nice to hang out with people who if nothing else don't make you feel guilty or shame you for expressing yourself sexually in words.

Also VERY thankful for my readers; its still very humbling that anyone takes the time to read something I wrote and its a great feeling to hear they actually enjoyed it.

Been debating on whether I'd do this publicly or privately, but i have two personal thank yous I wanna put out there.

First one: Im sure some of you are sick and tired of me singing the praises of @EmilyMiller , but tough shit, because I'm gonna do it again.

Besides the simple pleasure of her friendship, I am incredibly thankful for her inspiration. Without her, a large bulk of my story catalog simply would not exist. And that's not an exaggeration, simply a fact.

Ive told the story of how one of our conversations led to the writing of The Devil And Angel Em, a story that was, at the time, something VERY different from what I was usually writing. Em's inspiration and encouragement helped me to start expanding my stories into something bigger, more complicated.

And that ONE story eventually grew to seven more in an ever growing universe of characters and world building.

Then there's the multiple other stories she's helped with in one way or another; proofreading, editing and on more than one occasion helping kick-start things with an idea or suggestion after I'd stalled on writing it.

And of course we've also co-written several stories together that were an absolute blast that again also helped push the boundaries of my writing.

So... thank you, Emily. I just wanted you to know how much I appreciate you.

And I know I'm not the only one here who feels this way. ❤️

2nd individual i want to thank publicly is one who doesn't really frequent this forum. But still I will thank her here because she deserves it.

When @ResidentMadame reached out to me about recording an excerpt of my story, The Seduction Of Darkness, I was thrilled.

I'd already listened to and enjoyed several of her audios, and we'd struck up a casual friendship.

She in turn had read some of my work and fell in love with my She-Demon character Cozbi in particular and wanted to play her in an audio.

I of course approved and, after a quick rewrite of the first chapter, changing it from Third Person narrator to First Person from Cozbi's point of view, she set to work.

It took time, but the end result was so worth the wait.

I'd expected a simple reading. What I got was a piece of performance art, complete with sound effects and music, to rival any professionally recorded audio book.

MR poured her heart into it and it shows in every second of the 34 minutes.

Its hands down the work I'm most proud of. She took my story and elevated it to a level I'd never thought possible.

Only thing I think i could compare it to is how a lyric writer must feel after hearing a brilliant performer putting their words to music.

So thank you, MR, for giving me something I'll always cherish.

She did a remarkable job. When I write Cozbi now, I hear her voice 😈.

Helping my mom do Thanksgiving dinner so will be brief. Repeating the acknowledgment from the end of The Story of Nix:

  • As always, I’d also like to thank my regular partner in crime, @Djmac1031 , for his ongoing help and support. Writing a story of this length is a challenge and it makes a big difference to have a friend with you every step of the way. I should also acknowledge that it was DJ who originally came up with the name ‘Nix’ for my protagonist, which I thought fit perfectly.
And thanks also to my collaborators / alpha & beta readers / people who have supported me, including @PennyThompson @Mastered_again @onehitwanda and @StillStunned ❤️❤️❤️

Sorry to anyone I’ve forgotten - back to cooking 👩‍🍳🦃🥧

I am thankful for the grace and patience I have received as I've gone from the greenest of green newbs to (hopefully) just a green newb. I appreciate the advice and critiques I have received in an effort to improve my skills. :)

I enjoy those who've made this a community and shared their humor and who've laughed at my humerous efforts as I do like to entertain.

And for those rare few of you who've allowed me to explore my perversions, thanks for the time you've spent on your knees, offering me your pleasures. :devilish:

:rose:

What a lovely thread!

I'm thankful for all the inspirational stories here and for those wonderful writers who share them.

I'm thankful for all those authors who trust me to read their drafts and humour my suggestions. It's such an honour.

I'm thankful for everyone whose read one of my stories, especially those who leave a comment. I'm extremely thankful for those beta-readers who've helped me make my stories better.

Yeah. You're all lovely. Happy holidays.

First, the readers. Without them, there's no Lit and most of us have no place to meet and publish.

Second, the AH community in general. Writing has always been important to me, and this is the first time I've had access to a group of people with the same passion who have made me strive to get better. Probably everyone reading this hangs out on AH so no need for me to dwell on this because you know :)

Third, a few of you mentioned a specific "crew" of people that meant a lot to you here, and I've been blessed with that, too. I keep in touch, oftentimes several times a week, with several people I met here on Lit, and I cherish and value and am deeply thankful for those connections. You've all made me feel a little less alone in this world.

(Also you may recognize a bunch of your ideas in my stories, and hopefully all this thanks makes this a great time to ask, in advance, for forgiveness when I do it again)

And, last I'd like to also give a special thank you to the folks over on the poetry forum. I came across a super niche form of poetry in my research and posted about it over there, and the people who chimed in to test out the poetry style have been a lot of fun and have led to a new appreciation for poetry as form of writing.

Thankful, literary wise, for a pair of beta readers a while back, who nurtured me through my first really long piece of work. I've never seen more WHAT THE FUCK!!! capitals in my life, from one, and a constant gender change back from the other, when I was daft enough to give him something to edit.

They both gave me good advice, which on occasion I paid attention to (and still do).

Other than that, thankful to still be alive, because at this age, my dad wasn't. He died more than half a lifetime ago, and I'm forever reminded of him, every time I buy a new history book. Also, it was his copy of the Marquis de Sade's 120 Days of Sodom that I first read, aged sixteen. Good training for this Literotica caper.

This one's for you, @PennyThompson :).

I'm thankful to everyone who's contributed a story for one of my events - WIWAW, Pandemonium, Dark Fairy Tales - or written a snippet for any of the many Writing Exercises.

I'm thankful to all authors who share their stories here, which speak not only to the body but also to the soul. I'm thankful to you for every thought-provoking story that helps me to better understand myself. You are the best.
