It's frustrating to most of us when we realize that this could be solved in less than five minutes. First, the original Judge is fired. Gone. No pension, no medical. Out. Just thank God you aren't in jail or tarred and feathered. Why? Because his decision jeopardizes innocent citizens. The kid goes to jail for the max, no parole. Mother goes for the max, no parole. finished in less than five minutes. This is justice. It fairly(?) punishes the offender and serves as deterrent for all the other asshole sociopaths out there.

Yeah, it's very frustrating. He keeps doing the same shit that resulted in 4 dead people. His mother is an actual bitch because she thinks money will get her out of it again. I hope they do the right thing this time and put both of them away.

I can't imagine being the family of those four victims and dealing with this travesty of justice. I was hoping this punk would turn up with a hole in his head.

Things have changed.

Back in 1836 my ancestors brother was summarily executed by his captain for submitting a petition to their colonel from the men of the regiment. The captain blew his ass away.

The army acquitted the captain of murder.

So when the captain got back to Tallahassee my ancestor was waiting for him at the hotel. The ancestor challenged the captain to a duel. The captain refused the offer and my ancestor struck the captain's face with a whip. One of those riding crop thingies. They had a duel. Prince Achille Murat (Napoleons nephew) was my ancestors SECOND. Both men were wounded.

Awww you guys are so mean :( Poor kid needs booby hugs, warm milk and chocolate chip cookies.

I love my kids dearly but they were taught from a young age if you break the law I wont be giving you sympathy. Its called tough love.

We buried my youngest daughter beneath the jail for many months when she was 16. She spent all summer in jail then the court sent her to a wilderness camp twenty miles from a paved road.

The program was designed to force the inmates to cooperate and get along. Fleeing was almost impossible because of the wilderness and distance to anywhere.

To quote Daffy Duck in the cartoon, "Rabbit Seasoning": Shoot him now! Shoot him now!

There's a bit much of a lynch mob mentality gaining steam...

;) ;)

No wonder Mexico has decided to take steps to protect his rights.

The kid killed 4 people while drunk at the age of 16 and showed no remorse. He only got off because his parents had the money to afford a lawyer who could come up with the most bogus defense possible and a judge who was equally oblivious to reality.

This murderer then violated the conditions of his parole by being at an underage drinking party, then, with his mother's help, fled the country when he found out he'd have to take responsibility for actions by going to jail.

It's quite obvious a) he didn't learn from his first big mistake, and b) has no intention of being a productive member of society.

I'm all for people's rights but at some point you have to say enough is enough and wipe the slate clean.

You're so right.

Yes, it was a horrific case followed by miscarriage of justice. Then the youngster skips parole.

But I'm amazed at how fired up the internet is over this case compared to others.
Because it was manslaughter.
-Whereas people seem less "blood-thirsty" over other criminal cases, where intentionality was clear -like Corporations neglecting safety measures, for a buck, leading to cases of cancer in employees and so on -.

I can't help feeling that people are projecting onto this case all their feelings of discontent and helplessness re the current state of affairs, in which the balance is irrevocably tipped towards the 1%.

No, people are tired of coddling criminals. Witness the guy in New Hampshire who got killed running into another vehicle while the Secret Service was around. He had multiple drunk driving convictions and a suspended license yet he was out drinking again, endangering everyone around him.

People are sick to death of 14 year olds with rap sheets as tall as they are getting off easy, then turning 18 and going out and robbing, raping or murdering someone.

Everyone makes mistakes. But when you keep making mistakes, more and more serious "mistakes", people don't want to hear the excuses.

If you want to focus your ire on youths killing out of control, I suggest that there are better targets who seem to be untouchable in polite conversation because they have no wealth, are not white and eschew traditional values with the support of a lot larger segment of society than this one judge.

;) ;)

The judge and the kid are symptoms, not causes.

Now, what is the cause?

Social Justice?

"Everyone makes mistakes. But when you keep making mistakes, more and more serious "mistakes", people don't want to hear the excuses."

I dispute this; a large segment of our population has accepted and embraced the excuses and targeted other groups who are not sufficiently "liberal" as being the driving force behind children behaving badly and therefore wish, at any and all cost, to mitigate any consequences to self-destructive behaviors as well as lavishing programs and largess upon those groups who demonstrate the most egregious and organized anti-social behaviors...

Now, I would start my examples with an alphabetic listing, but that will provoke a very strong reaction in favor of the unassailable victim.

:(

So you're agreeing with me that people are tired of excuses when those groups misbehave?

We had two situations at a Mall south of me just before Christmas. The first was a fight which broke out among a group of indigent teenagers. The second a police involved shooting where some wannabe rapper got killed (yeah!) after he drew a gun in a store on others.

Then there are the near daily shootings in the city I live just outside of. The shooters are usually from the same group yet no one has a problem stating the same course of action: get rid of them.

There might be some, depending on where one is in the country, who think criminals should be coddled, but the vast majority of people are tired of the same groups of people wasting our time and money because they choose not to live with the bounds of a civil society. This includes those in the white collar industries as well who almost never face the consequences of their actions.

No, I am telling you that this is a lone example because the kid was white and wealthy...

We sure as hell are tired of his excuses.

We never seem to tire of the excuses of, oh, let's move on to the Bs...

#blackliversmatter, for example.

;) ;)

PS - As it is now, we send our children to institutions controlled completely by those who drive the conditions that I allude to; the ones who teach excuse 101...

I thought of another way to put it; the people who are angry over these behaviors do not control the dialog and their anger makes them a direct target of those who excuse the conduct based upon social (and economic) injustice.

Obama and the Libs to not crash the car. Obama and the Libs did not run to Mexico.

The young rich drunk punk will get a few months and walk. He was under 18 and that is that.

Rich old enabling mommy? Yeah, justice. I hope she is comfy in jail. She is going to end up serving junior's time.

I just searched this thread for "Obama" and only one person used it.

Insecure partisan shill...
