It's my favorite Holiday. Just friends and food and more food.

Are you hosting? What's on the menu?
Are you a guest ? You can't show up empty handed. Soooo are you bringing?

The holidays are going to be hard now that my mom is gone. I use to enjoy them, but not too sure how they're going to be this year. My aunt is cooking dinner and I'm bringing a cherry cheesecake so that will be good.

This year, it's just myself, hubby and son. First time we're going to be alone for thanksgiving since we got together 11 years ago...

So, we're probably going out....I'm not cooking, lol

I'm hosting. We'll have turkey with cornbread dressing, asparagus casserole, sweetpotato souffle, ham with pineapple crisp, pumpkin pie, devilled eggs, apple pie and homemade carrot cake with cream cheese frosting. Broccoli and green beans

I usually cook either a rib roast or turkey meal.

Rib Roast with fresh rosemary and garlic
Potatoes-mashed/baked/simple potato salad, depends on how we feel
Rolls-1 year I made popovers, I would like to do that again
Green beens-fresh if they are not too stringy
Black olives and cranberry (canned)
Pie-usually sweet potato but Miss Smiths has a good pecan I buy also

Turkey
dressing
Yeast rolls-grandma's recipe
Green beans
Olives, canned cranberry
Pie-same

but this year I know I will be tired so we might cook a small turkey, stove top stuffing, bought rolls and packaged green beans.

It's just me, my husband and my mom but I still cook a lot for leftovers.

Holidays are always just for family. I have gone to my inlaws, grandma and grandpa, in Seattle for Thanksgiving one year and we ended up in the kitchen cooking that meal as well...needless to say I told my husband I was not going back :). I like them a lot but I could have stayed home and cooked. I like just being comfortable, not a party atmosphere or having to entertain people.

I will just be cooking for 5 people...
I will make turkey, homemade stuffing, mashed potatoes , fresh green beans, corn, and sweet potatoes with a cranberry glaze. Of course dinner rolls too.
Dessert will be a homemade apple pie.
I will cook dinner around the Eagles game that day....lol :)

I do miss being with my family back east for Thanksgiving...

With me on crutches my family has decided to do the cooking this year. We will have about 12 to 15 people on the first day and on the second there will be about the same. I am used to hosting and having everyone at the same time from both sides of the family but no one else seems to want to take on that daunting task so two celebrations it is!

Enjoy, Jezz!

Early Thanksgiving, on Sunday. My wife works on the real holiday.

We will be guests...but we are cooking as well...flying to Kauai for Thanksgiving week.

I will be working 12 hour shifts on all four days, I believe. So no cooking, no visiting, no enjoying and no leftovers :(

Not working but not planning on going anywhere not sure if it will be a hungry an turkey dinner or Bob Evans.

Being Canadian...I have already had Thanksgiving.....but there is nothing saying that I can't come to yours and celebrate again!! After all, one cannot be TOO thankful. :p:

Wow...sounds absolutely scrumptious...what time is dinner at? And I can bring dinner rolls....:D

We do a very non-traditional Thanksgiving.

I'll rotisserie grill a standing ribroast (Prime rib) on the grill, we'll cook a ham as well. We'll do my family's famous mashed potatoes, I'll do grilled onions and green beans. We'll drink Octoberfest winter brew, and then roast marshmallows over the fire pit. Maybe finish the night in the spa :)

We usually head to the in-laws for Thanksgiving (the last 10 years), but I am working this year so it's home we stay.

I am NOT a cook (and only half of the family eats turkey) so it will be a bake in the bag turkey breast and then figure the rest out from there...hahaha (though pumpkin pie will ne part of the menu)

I am curious about this asparagus casserole of which you speak. :)

One of my favorite holidays!!!

Food, more food, some football and then more food! Love, love, love it!

will be on the road this year with my son and sister (changing jobs so travel it is) so I am sure we will just find a place to dine on the road. Thinking we will be in Memphis or maybe Atlanta by Thursday.
