Well Christmas is just a few days away and a New Year is soon to follow. Sometime during all the celebrating, gift giving, and perhaps even worshipping take a moment to remember those who guard yoru freedom. Now many of you that voted for that other guy don't seem to support the cause. Fine but remember those who stepped forward to protect your freedom.

Afghanistan....Iraq.....Vietnam...Korea....Germany...Japan.....etc. All couldn't have been good places to spend the holidays away from home and family. To all the heroes that are overseas I smilely say thank you for your service.

To all those currently serving I have a special thank you..from a first responder. You fight them there in their streets so we don't have to fight them in ours. Keep the faith.

To those who died to keep the world safe, we remember you.

To those who died in stupid wars, unknown conflicts, and random accidents, we mourn you.

To those who still live but are separated far from loved ones, far from their families, in a land where people hate them personally, we hope you live through this Hell and we weep for you.

To those who lived to be treated like shit at home either by an unthankful government or people, we grieve for you.

To all of you, we give condolences and rememberence for sacrifices great and small.

To veterans and soldiers alike on the upcoming Christmas Day, the past Chanukah, and the Solstice, a :rose: and a  from the .

Well done, Lucifer Carroll. And I totally agree.

My only suggestion would be to add a note about the ones who lived, but still bear the scars, both mental and physical.

Oh, damn, forgot about them, dumb to do because grandpa was going into flashbacks of Island Hopping for about a quarter of my visit.

Yes, to them, we give a set of Colly's *HUSG* to help allay the pain.

*HUGS* especially to those who served and carry the scars.

It's important to remember that those brave men and women are over there serving our country. Wether or not you believe in the war is irrelivant. Those soldiers were called upon to serve their country and they are doing exactly that. Doing a diffacult job under some of the most brutal and demanding conditions imaginable. They, and the families they left behind, deserve the respect and support of every single American.

If you don't believe in the war, fight the administration that sent them there. Don't fight the soldiers. They are your friends, your neighbors, your coworkers and your relatives. They deserve our support and loyalty.

Many nice thing said here including at least one poem. Some kind words and excuse me I did not mean to leave out any other important holy days.....another one of our strengths is a diverse force that lives, works, eats, and fights together.

Well thanks again to all those who risk so much for so many.

Lisa Denton I think many soldiers would to find what was in your lovely picture under their tree.......smiles

Though I am sure many would prefer their spouse and families.

And a special note of thanks to Max Cleland, John Kerry and the other Untouchables whose courage under fire won them nothing but contempt.

Well said, CD. I hope everyone here who supports the troops fighting overseas will still support them if they choose to speak out against the war when they come home.

Fuckin party hacks. No respect what so fuckin ever. A man lose his fuckin limbs in the service of his country and the republican party shits on their torso.

GOP. What a fuckin laugh.

Well, sher. Chimpo the second has purged his cabinet now. Nothing but ass suckin yes men! That Condi! What a cock worshipping jellyfish!

If he goes to a cabinet meeting, does it look too much like a fun house, I wonder? All the fuckin mirrors? Can he tell where he leaves off and the toadies begin?

Spooky.

Yet you'd think, now more than ever, when the situation in Afghanistan, in Iraq, in Europe, is so difficult to regulate, that especially now, any sane Führer would want some input, some new ideas. The old ideas are surely not working real good. But nope. He wants a chorus of subservient Condis saying what they're told to say.

What a doodah.

I think he actually is convinced he's important! Except he doesn't realize why. He has no clue that he is killing his country off. I mean, that's important, but not the way he's thinking of it.

What a pathetic twad.

PS I don't want you to pay a bit of attention, sher. I've been drinking .

One of the best things about the Iraqi War is, at least on the home front it isn't Viet Nam. One heard stories of disrespect heaped upon returning veterans from that unhappy conflict. But today's soldier is universally respected in this country.

Everyone understands the sacrifices being made by our soldiers, by the National Guard, by the reservists. Many soldiers are unhappily on second and third tours of duty over there, or are expecting their tours to end only to find that they have been extended yet again.

Who has not felt the pain of the losses of these brave men? My wife is a friend of the father of Nick Berg. Everyone, it seems, knows someone who has suffered from this conflict.

People of every political stripe in this country wish only for the swift and safe return of our men in uniform.

They don't defend my country. But hey, they're people, and I like people. Merry Christmas to them too. :rose:
