Hi all,

As a few of you may have noticed, I had a bit of an episode. Some of this was Lit-related, some not so much. Anyway, I am going to take a break from writing and also ease back on the forums (is that a ripple of applause I hear?)

I was considering a total Lit break, maybe permanent, definitely lengthy, but I’m not doing that anymore.

Though the internet can often be a den of orcs, there are some Maiar out there as well. I’m not going to embarrass the AH people who have reached out, and in some cases done a lot more than that, they know who they are. This thank you is for them.

We do worry, but I also respect that if you stop writing for a bit it’s because you have to sort out you.

I think creativity is a process that’s prone to these kinds of ups and downs where you have a few days and weeks where you are on fire, alive, every word hits in the right way, every turn of phrase and then it ends and it’s just word blancmange.

Also you’re planning a wedding (if memory serves) and that is very stressful, especially juggling that and creative stuff too.

If you need to vent or discuss or anything we of AH are always here to talk about any old shit, because most of us are (word removed as it was incorrect) old shits.

The voting pattern has been:

5, 5, 5, 5, 5, 1, 1, 1, 1, 5 = 3.6

Well, so what? Some people like my stuff, some don’t. But…

The fives were spread out over time and hundreds of views. The ones all happened in a few minutes and without views ticking up much.

If that’s not a malicious signature, I don’t know what is.

Those 1s are likely to get swept out by Lit and your rating restored.

As a piece of advice for abandoning the site, you have been posting and writing a lot, so burn out is not surprising. Take a break. You'll always be welcome and have breathed fresh air into the AH club.

The Troll bombing you've seen is characteristic when, in their myopic view, you're getting too confident and need a good lesson. 1. you're a woman and they don't like that 2. you're too successful and they don't like that 3. You're blond(e) and, unless in their fantasy world, you have their dick in your mouth, they don't like that ... actually forget the dick in mouth because, you've guessed it, they don't like that either.

I’ve been one-bombed this morning by some bellend.

It’s just horrible and smashes your enthusiasm and it’s a mood-killer. Just focus on yourself for a while, have fun here and start again when you’re ready.

Don’t rush it.
