Thank you to all who responded to my query about a character taking me out of my "sex-pertise" *s*.. You were all very generous with your responses and your welcoming of a "newbie" to this board. I read and appreciated each post.
(and as a newbie not sure this is the best way to respond, but just wanted to say thanks and hope I don't get kicked off for doing this).
Yes, this character is challenging me even though I thought I had it plotted out well. I will just have to acknowledge that the qualities of the character I created are more assertive than I had anticipated.
Which means I will need to expose her as she wants, my own anxiety aside and "let her rip!".. Though as I read and reflected I think part of my reluctance with her is what most writers struggle with.. exposure of themselves.. offering the writing to others and waiting for the response and fearing rejection.
I have a difficult time writing the first sentence because I self-edit so much... this "Lit" site has inspired me to at least try to put something together, and with support such as I got with just a post, I'm looking forward to writing again , self-editing be damned! (yes, run-on sentence.. the stupid "..." ) *s*
