Thank you for the music (closed)

Luna smiled and went to bed herself, for the first time in a long time. She didn't toss and turn, she enjoyed the comfort that someone was there with her. Living alone, was very lonely, but would never admit it. But right now it didn't matter, she soon fell asleep. Enjoying the deep sleep, she ended up waking about six in the morning. And began to cook some breakfast for them. She hoped he wasn't picky, just a simple breakfast. Eggs, Bacon and Toast, she was humming lowly to herself as she made it up.

He woke with a start, he felt very disorientated, no idea where he was, but slowly it came to him and then the smell caught his attention. Bacon and eggs. He got up and got dressed, he searched for the bathroom and washed his face, then he followed the smell to the kitchen where Luna was busy making breakfast,

"Good morning, that smells heavenly."

Luna didn't hear him get around, so he startled her a little bit. Looking up at him, she smiled some. "Good morning sleepy head, you have a good sleep?" She asked happily. She was just putting the eggs and bacon on the dishes and grabbed the toast. She didn't know what he would want to drink, so she had orange juice. Milk and even some coffee, she put everything down on the table.

"You just got up in time to" She said happily.

Charles Streak

He chuckled,

"Seems like that, thank you."

He sat down and spooned up some food for him, then poured some coffee,

"Gotta start the day with a cuppa Joe. Thank you for all this, it really is great."

She nodded happily and grabbed some juice, she really was glad to have some company.

"It was no trouble really, I enjoyed cooking for company. I don't ever get to do it" She said happily and sipped her juice, relaxing back a bit. Watching him eat, and hoping it tasted ok. She was a good cook, so her parents always told her but didn't know if they were being nice because she was there daughter, or if she was good or not.

Charles Streak

"This is really good, did you study?"

He finished his plate and sat back, sipping on his coffee. He had to admit that it felt nice to have company and the fact that she wasn't too hard too look at made it even better.

She smiled at him and shook her head "No my mother taught me, she taught me a lot before she died. My family life wasn't peaches and cream once my mother got sick, by the time they found what was wrong. It was already to late, stage four cancer. Killed my father, he had a heart attack three days after her death. But I know he died of a broken heart" She said kindly looking at him. "So basically I dived right into music after there death, and even got into some cooking"

Charles Streak

He nodded,

"Well we all have different ways with dealing with our hurts and anguishes, some may seem silly, but what works for us is what keeps us alive."

He sipped on his coffee

She nodded "very true, and to me when you are dealing with hard emotions like sadness, no idea is stupid on how to deal with it. It's better then just sitting around, feeling sorry for yourself and wanting to end your own life. The suicide rate is very bad all over this country"

Charles Streak

He nodded

"Yes it is, but also the attitude towards these people before they do end up dead is this whole "they are just looking for attention", I'm very sorry, but if somebody actually goes to extremes to get attention, at least give them a bone, let them feel worth something in this world. It is the fact that this world have become so hard that suicides are rising."

She nodded "Yeah I remember when I was in high school, a girl got picked on something horrible. She slit her wrists in the girls bathroom, they had to break the door down to the bathroom. Then after that, we got taught the danger signs to look for. But half the kids didn't give a damn. Me I paid attention to the signs, I ended up helping her th rough the hard parts of her life"

Charles Streak

He smiled and got up

"Well I hate to eat and run, but I will have to make it back home and then to the park. If you wish to come along a bit later, I'm sure we can work on some music. Fresh air always does one some good."

She smiled at him kindly and nodded "Sounds nice, I'll stop by the park later. I have some errands to run, but then when I'm done I'll meet you at the usual spot" She really was happy to be spending time with an actual person, instead of music. Seemed nice to be able to hold a conversation.

Charles Streak

He smiled and picked up his case,

"Then I will be seeing you later, thank you very much for everything, it was very kind and generous of you."

After exiting the house and waving goodbye to her, he walked down the road, back to the intersection that would take him all the way home.

She smiled at him "Hey any time it was fun having a sleep over" She chuckled and waved at him. She jumped into the shower and got dressed, she finished a few things she needed to do. She was relaxing on her couch, and after about two hours she noticed the time. Getting up she left her place and went for a walk, the long way around to see her newly found friend.

He was seated under the old tree across the fountain, he was not playing, but held his guitar in his lap. He looked at the fountain with studied concentration, his mind miles away. He had gone home, bathed, brushed his teeth, slipped into new underwear and a t-shirt with the same jean. He used what money he had to pay the next month's rent up front, he was at that moment sitting and wondering about what kind of work he could try as it was clear that his break as musician would take a while still to come.

She was doing a lot of thinking and pretty soon she looked up seeing Charles, sitting under a tree. It looked like he was really looking deeply at something, she walked up to him and sat down beside him. Brushing up against him lightly to get his attention. "Penny for your thoughts?"

Charles Streak

He started and looked at her, then smiled,

"Actually that was where my thoughts were, but more in Dollars than Pennies."

He grinned at her,

"You're here early, rushed just to come sing for the masses?"

She smiled "I didn't have anything to do, I was suppose to do something that would take a few hours but it was canceled. Was just walking around, decided to say what the hell and show up early"

Charles Streak

He chuckled,

"And here I thought I played such good music."

He leaned back into the bench and watched the people move past,

"It is strange how they run and rush and yet find no joy."

She laughed with him.

"You are a damn good musician Charles" She said softly.

Listing to what he nodded and looked at him "Yeah I agree, I had no joy till I met you. So I know real joy because of you"

Charles Streak

He chuckled,

"Because I am a down-to-earth damn good musician?"

He smiled at her,

"I really should get playing, these fingers will have to earn their keep."

She smiled at him and nodded, brushing her hair out of her face. Luna really did see something special within him, he had a pure heart.

"You have inspired something out of me, your the first guy to ever move me in the way you move me"

Looking around at the people, it was a real sweet thing. Thinking for a moment, she really did have a lot of fun with him. She just wanted him to make it.

Charles Streak

He smiled,

"It is the magic of it all my friend."

His fingers started to dance over the strings of his guitar and some people slowed down and others just stopped and started to listen.

"It happened on a cold December morning
Together with my little sister
I was waiting at the harbour
To pick up my daddy
He was returning from the sea
To celebrate his birthday with us
The winds increased to gale force
And the thundery clouds darkened the sky
Then an old fisherman told
of a boat at sea
Sending out an SOS

We've been waiting so long
O Daddy what went wrong
How we need you now and beg you please come home.

If I had only a chance to see your face again
Tears that I cried they would blind me, on and on
If I had only a chance to hear your voice again
Words that you whispered would seem to be a song.

Time cures all things
And years are passing by
But I still can hear my sister cry

I've been waiting so long
Oh daddy what went wrong
How I need you now I beg you please come home.
If I had only a chance to see your face again
Tears that I cried they would blind me, on and on
If I had only a chance to hear your voice again
Words that you whispered would seem to be a song.

His boat never returned
It's still missing.
In spite of several search-operations
The sailors were never found again
They were certainly lost in the Atlantic.

If I had only a chance to see your face again
Tears that I cried they would blind me, on and on."

She smiled and listened to him sing, so she began to harmonize the song with him. Since she had heard this song years ago. She was very good at that kind of thing, enjoying the time she spent with him. Seeing more people starting to pay attention, she really was taken back. If I had only a chance by BZN was one of her favorites really, a nice classic.
