Thank you for the music (closed)

She looked at him, she couldn't help it she just hated rude people.

"Sorry I know but still, went to school with jerks like that. I never stood up to them, I was a quite kid. Let people walk all over me, but Ive changed since then."

As he said what he did about the song she nodded, and when she heard him begin to play. She smiled happily knowing what song it was, crossing one leg over the other. Enjoying the feel of his eyes on her, made her feel safe.

"Our Last Summer By Abba, my mothers favorite song. I always thought it was a beautiful song, I love how you sing it."

Charles Streak

He smiled,

"Actually it is a double edit on the original. I took this one from the movie Mama Mia and changed it a little bit. But it stays a beautiful song none the less and thank you, I never was one for doing vocals, but if you approve it can't be too bad."

He leaned back and arched an eyebrow at the few people loitering around,

"Seems that where ever you go, people show up to hear me play. Still think you are not a muse?"

She smiled and nodded, he was clever that was for sure.

"Perhaps its just...coincidence?"

She chuckled some not really caring what they were doing, as long as they didn't cause issues.

Charles Streak

"Well then, let them listen."

He stroked the strings of his old guitar and winked at her,

"I don't wanna talk
About the things we've gone through
Though it's hurting me
Now it's history
I've played all my cards
And that's what you've done too
Nothing more to say
No more ace to play

The winner takes it all
The loser's standing small
Beside the victory
That's a destiny

I was in your arms
Thinking I belonged there
I figured it made sense
Building me a fence
Building me a home
Thinking I'd be strong there
But I was a fool
Playing by the rules

The gods may throw a dice
Their minds as cold as ice
And someone way down here
Loses someone dear
The winner takes it all
The loser has to fall
It's simple and it's plain
Why should I complain.

But tell me does she kiss
Like I used to kiss you?
Does it feel the same
When she calls your name?
Somewhere deep inside
You must know I miss you
But what can I say
Rules must be obeyed

The judges will decide
The likes of me abide
Spectators of the show
Always stay in love
The game is on again
A lover or a friend
A big thing or a small
The winner takes it all

I don't wanna talk
If it makes you feel sad
And I understand
You've come to shake my hand
I apologize
If it makes you feel bad
Seeing me so tense
No self-confidence
But you see
The winner takes it all
The winner takes it all... "

He finished and noticed even more people around them, interesting.

She wondered why so many people came to listen, it's not like she was famous.
no one even knew her, but right now she just enjoyed his company, singing with
him. Smiling over at him, she was really content right now enjoying everything.

A song actually came to her head but stayed quiet about it.

Charles Streak

He noticed that look in her eye, one that he knew very well,

"As one artist to another, you have a song in mind, or something came up in that mind of yours, go ahead, I'm listening."

She smiled thinking for a moment, and nodded some as a melody escaped her lips. Hearing some music in the distance from someones loud car stero system.

"Doctor, doctor, need you bad, hold me babe
Doctor, doctor, where ya at? Give me something
I need your love, I need your love, I need your loving
You got that kind of medicine that keeps me going
My body needs a hero, come and save me
Something tells me you know how to save me
I’ve been feeling feral, oh I need you
Come and rescue me

Make me come alive, come on and turn em on
Touch me, save my life, come on and turn me on
I’m too young to die, come on and turn me on
Turn me on, turn me on, turn me on, turn me on

Boy you make it, make it right
Let’s take a chair and sit behind
If I scream if I cry
It’s only cause I feel alive
My body needs a hero, come and save me
Something tells you know how to save me
I’ve been feeling veral, oh I need you
Come and rescue me

Make me come alive, come on and turn em on
Touch me, save my life, come on and turn me on
I’m too young to die, come on and turn me on
Turn me on, turn me on, turn me on, turn me on

You’ve got my life in the palm of your hand
Come save me now, I know you can

Don’t let me die young
I just want you to father my young
I just want you to be my doctor
We get a little drunk and chiropractor
I know you can save me and make me feel alive."

Charles Streak

He quickly caught the melody and started to accompany her with the guitar, adding little swirls and kinks of his own. This was something he loved doing back in college, allowing people to sing as he played the tune.

She smiled at him, they worked very well together. She had faith that something great would fall into there lap. She wanted to help him in any way that she could. Never leaving eye contact once.

Charles Streak

He looked around at the people around them and grinned,

"And now...a word from our sponsors..."

He started to pick at the strings, then settled into the song.

"On a dark desert highway, cool wind in my hair
Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air
Up ahead in the distance, I saw shimmering light
My head grew heavy and my sight grew dim
I had to stop for the night
There she stood in the doorway;
I heard the mission bell
And I was thinking to myself,
"This could be Heaven or this could be Hell"
Then she lit up a candle and she showed me the way
There were voices down the corridor,
I thought I heard them say...
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
Plenty of room at the Hotel California
Any time of year (Any time of year)
You can find it here
Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes bends
She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys she calls friends
How they dance in the courtyard, sweet summer sweat.
Some dance to remember, some dance to forget
So I called up the Captain,
"Please bring me my wine"
He said, "We haven't had that spirit here since nineteen sixty nine"
And still those voices are calling from far away,
Wake you up in the middle of the night
Just to hear them say...
Welcome to the Hotel California
Such a lovely place (Such a lovely place)
Such a lovely face
They livin' it up at the Hotel California
What a nice surprise (what a nice surprise)
Bring your alibis
Mirrors on the ceiling,
The pink champagne on ice
And she said "We are all just prisoners here, of our own device"
And in the master's chambers,
They gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives,
But they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember, I was
Running for the door
I had to find the passage back
To the place I was before
"Relax," said the night man,
"We are programmed to receive.
You can check-out any time you like,
But you can never leave!"

She smiled as she sang with him, she knew the song a bit and it was a nice one.

People came all over the place to listen, it was a wonderful feeling to enjoy and sing with her newly found friend.

Charles Streak

He had to call a halt, he had been playing for more than 5 hours straight and not that he didn't appreciate the money, he was just plainly tired. He placed his guitar on top of the money, much to the displeasure of the people listening to them.

"Sorry people I'm tired and of course I have to take my friend home."

She smiled as she got ready to get going, looking at her friend she could tell how tired he was. And decided to offer him her room for the night, she was afraid he would fall asleep, get hit by a car or get mugged. Anything was possible when you were tired in this city.

"Would you like to stay with me tonight? since my place is closer? I have a guest room you could have and a bathroom that is in the room as well"

She wanted to get to know him better to, what could she say she was lonely.

Charles Streak

He cocked an eyebrow at her while they walked,

"You would invite a stranger to stay over at your place?"

He smiled,

"Yes a stranger, this is the second time we've met you know."

She smiled some looking at him and nodded at him.

"Yes, id like you to come. With you being tired you could get hurt or mugged, besides will be nice to get to know you even better"

She said happily and looked at him.

"What do you say?"

Charles Streak

"Ok, but then I insist on helping with the dishes."

He smiled at her,

"And then we can get to work on some songs."

She nodded happily, and took his arm taking her to her place. Which was a short walk for them, once inside she removed her Jacket and took his.

"Make yourself at home, the guest room is straight ahead from where you are."

She said happily and went into the kitchen to heat something up for them to eat, she was singing to herself as she got food ready.

Charles Streak

He looked around, it was evident that there was money here, but it was not flaunted. He studied the photos and paintings as he walked to the room she had told him to use. Entering the room he had to smile, dolphins and the color blue dominated the room, almost like a children's room, but too grown up for it to be one. He placed his worn case on the bed and ran his fingers over the duvet, it was soft. Much softer than the blanket he used, he pushed down and the bed is even softer than his couch. Oh he was going to sleep well a bit later, the thought made him yawn, but not wanting to be a bad guest he walked out of the room to look for Luna.

She was off getting something simple to eat, Luna was singing a song that she had wrote years ago but never sang it in front of people. She always thought the lyrics were kinda stupid, she had a nice place and a piano with a couple guitars. She heard something and turned her head smiling at her friend. "Was going to throw together something, forgot to go to the store, course I wasn't expecting company. But I like company, no one comes here."

Charles Streak

"They should, you have a lovely home Luna."

His eye had caught one of the guitars and as she continued with the food, he walked over and found that his eyes had not deceived him, it was a Gibson Stratocaster, he reveredly picked it up and slipped it on. It was plugged into an amp and he switched it on. This was one of his big dreams, to own a guitar much like this one. He tested the notes, found the guitar tuned and just for fun started to play Smoke on the Water.

Luna heard music and smiled as she had made some sandwiches and brought out some coke she had, putting them down on the table as she watched him. Smiling at him, as she brushed a strand of hair out of her eyes. Crossing her arms as she tapped her foot to the beat of the music. Sitting down as she watched him, when he was done she clapped at him.

"That was great! I see you found my guitar, it was made for me. Since I play it a certain way, glad to see your enjoying it."

Charles Streak

"It's truly a lovely guitar, very well balanced and the sound is magnificent."

He continued to play a few guitar riffs which sounded just fantastic to his ear,

"Now all you need is a drum set and I will be able to start a band, you can play the guitar and I'll add the beat."

He chuckled

Luna smiled at him and nodded, glad that he was having so much fun, Thinking for a moment she looked back at him. "My father bought me that guitar ten years ago, Ive kept it in perfect condition all those years, course I don't play it much"

Charles Streak

"Well then, perhaps one day you should play for me."

He smiled and sat down on a chair, his finger caressing the strings as he played the guitar intro for Paint it Black

She looked at him kindly and thought for a moment, but she got things set up for some dinner.

"It's not much but made some dinner, I'll have to go to the store tomorrow. You can stay as long as you like, since I like the company. Much better then being alone and feeling lonely you know?"
