Thank you for the music (closed)

Luna smiled seeing him and waved when he saw her, when fans said they were there biggest fan to people. It was sweet but didn't mean much, since everyone thought that about bands and solo artists. But for Luna she honestly was his biggest fan since she had known him and believed in him it was rather nice. She made her mistakes and vowed never to do something so damn stupid ever again, that was how she was. And she never made the mistake either never again would she ever do that again.

She hated herself for doing it the first time, but right now it didn't matter. He was there and he was singing, it was rather nice. She sang along with the song since she knew it by heart already, she was happy and being one with the music it felt really nice. When the song was over everyone was shouting and Luna was able to do one of her ear piercing whistles with her fingers. It was rather nice and was happy. But what happened next she had no idea would ever happen, but he always surprised her.

Luna saw the light going down on her and she smiled, she got right up on the stage. She was wearing a thin strapped dress it was mostly black with little bits of color. She walked right up to Charles and kissed his cheek. Placing her hand on his shoulder, someone off stage handed her a mic and she smiled. "Come on guys lets show him some love!" She said and the crowd really made a sound. She looked at him curious as to what song he wanted to do with her, but she knew everything he sang so she took his lead.

Charles motioned and one of the the stage hands brought a microphone stand and also handed her a lead guitar, he grinned at her,

"OK this next song is from a group which really made a huge impact on my life, their songs just made one think about music and the people performing and singing it. Luna here is one of the best guitar players, trained by masters, yet she will never like to admit it in public."

He winked at her and the keyboard started to key the notes for the intro to Dire Straits' Money for nothing, he shifted his guitar to his back, allowing her to show off her skills with the guitar intro.

Charles:

"Now look at them yo-yo's that's the way you do it
You play the guitar on the MTV
That ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Money for nothin' and chicks for free
Now that ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Lemme tell ya them guys ain't dumb
Maybe get a blister on your little finger
Maybe get a blister on your thumb"

He nodded at her to sing the chorus,

Luna:

"We gotta install microwave ovens
Custom kitchen deliveries
We gotta move these refrigerators
We gotta move these colour TV's"

Charles:

"See the little faggot with the earring and the makeup
Yeah buddy that's his own hair
That little faggot got his own jet airplane
That little faggot he's a millionaire"

Luna:

"We gotta install microwave ovens
Custom kitchens deliveries
We gotta move these refrigerators
We gotta move these colour TV's"

Charles:

"I shoulda learned to play the guitar
I shoulda learned to play them drums
Look at that mama, she got it stickin' in the camera
Man we could have some fun
And he's up there, what's that? Hawaiian noises?
Bangin' on the bongoes like a chimpanzee
That ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Get your money for nothin' get your chicks for free"

Charles and Luna

"We gotta install microwave ovens
Custom kitchen deliveries
We gotta move these refrigerators
We gotta move these colour TV's, Lord

Now that ain't workin' that's the way you do it
You play the guitar on the MTV
That ain't workin' that's the way you do it
Money for nothin' and your chicks for free
Money for nothin' and chicks for free"

Charles:

"Money for nothin' and chicks for freeeeeee..."

A huge crash on the drums follows

Charles:

"Yeah!"

A huge roars goes up and he slips an arm around Luna, raising an arm into the air as he hugs her to him,

"Luna Wolf ladies and gentlemen!"

An appreciative roar goes up and he grins at her,

"Now for the song that really made me famous and who I wrote with her. Here is Yesterday's Love."

Luna was taken back by what he said about her skills, in the back of her head she was thinking "Yeah well who is the one with the record contract?" But she wouldn't even think about saying anything least now for it. It felt good to be able to have this moment with him, she got her wish about singing one song with him in front of thousands of people. She watched as a guitar was handed to her. And thinking for a moment, there was a silence as she was thinking of the notes quickly.

When she showed off the skills she had she sang with him and it was incredible, smiling at Charles the whole time. The whole time she was thinking of a song that meant a lot to her, if she ever managed to sing a song of her choice one day it would have to be crawling or somewhere I belong by Linkin Park. When the song was over and she felt his arm around her, she hugged him back hearing the roaring in the crowd. It felt incredible to have this moment with him, and she kissed his cheek again.

Luna smiled hearing his next song choice and began to play the notes to it, just automatically. And the way she played was easy to see she didn't want to be the center of attention. This was his night not hers, looking up at Charles she smiled a bit as she knew how much she meant to him now. It felt nice to know someone cared for her, and she would never let him down. That was a promise she made to him long ago. Luna would be there to pick up the pieces if she had to pick up pieces.

He sang, watching her as she played the chords to the song which made him famous, there was a bit of stress to her, but he knew it was things that she would have to say to him outright, some things was left to a person to sort out between each other. He finally turned his attention back to the crowd and held out the microphone to catch their own words, then he continued to finish the song.

"Thank you! Now everybody always goes around making statements that I picked out Pop music as that is all that I can play."

A stagehand came over and took his old guitar, handing him a bass guitar,

"But tonight I will silence these critics, if the song with Disturbed was not enough to silence them, these two will. We start with a classic, AC/DC's Thunderstruck, Luna, when you're ready."

He waited for her to start and picked in on que, the drummer doing his bit as the song formed in general, the crowd chanting the Aahaaahaaa along with Charles.

Charles:

"Thunder, thunder, thunder, thunder
I was caught
In the middle of a railroad track
I looked round
And I knew there was no turning back
My mind raced
And I thought what could I do
And I knew
There was no help, no help from you
Sound of the drums
Beating in my heart
The thunder of guns...yeah
Tore me apart
You've been
Thunderstruck

Rode down the highway
Broke the limit, we hit the town
Went through to Texas, yeah Texas, and we had some fun
We met some girls
Some dancers who gave a good time
Broke all the rules
Played all the fools
Yeah yeah they, they, they blew our minds
And I was shaking at the knees
Could I come again please
Yeah them ladies were too kind
You've been
Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck...yeah

I was shaking at the knees
Could I come again please

Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck
It's alright, we're doin' fine
It's alright, we're doin' fine, fine, fine
Thunderstruck, yeah, yeah, yeah
Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck
Thunderstruck, baby, baby
Thunderstruck, you've been Thunderstruck
Thunderstruck, Thunderstruck
You've been Thunderstruck"

When the song ended Charles watched Luna as she finished with a nice metal riff and grinned out at the crowd.

"Whooo yeah! Now that is a good one!"

She smiled and nodded to him cracking her neck as she began to play the fast cords, she had a huge grin on her face as she moved with the music. Able to be on stage and dance around with out missing a beat. It was easy to tell that she got into it since she was moving with the beat of the song. She actually twirled her guitar with the strap she spun the guitar around and still got to the beat. Luna loved his voice it was rich and bobbed her head a little bit as everything seemed so damn perfect.

She put her own little spin on the end and it wasn't terrible she knew because of how the crowd was, she chuckled a bit as she hopped around people clapping and chanting it felt good to have this one moment in time. Where nothing mattered, all that mattered was the music and how the end seemed to make everyone even more happy. When the music died down she smiled at Charles and nodded to him. Showing she was proud of him as she knew everything seemed to have stopped around them for a moment.

He grinned back at Luna,

"And since we did an oldie, we must do something new as well. How about... Diary of Jane by Breaking Benjamin?"

Luna nodded to show she knew the song and started to play, Charles joined in with the bass and started to sing.

"If I had to I would put myself right beside you
So let me ask, would you like that? Would you like that?
And I don't mind if you say this love is the last time
So now I'll ask, do you like that? Do you like that? No!

Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place In the diary of Jane
So tell me how it should be!

Try to find out what makes you tick
as I lie down Sore and sick,
do you like that?
Do you like that?
There's a fine line between love and hate and I don't mind
Just let me say that I like that, I like that

Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place In the diary of Jane

As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find my place In the diary of Jane
So tell me how it should be!

Desperate, I will crawl, waiting for so long
No love, there is no love Die for anyone, what have I become?
Something's getting in the way
Something's just about to break
I will try to find my place In the diary of Jane

As I burn another page
As I look the other way
I still try to find my place In the diary of Jane"

The crowd reaction showed that they appreciated the new twist on things and Charles gave them the Rock-On sign and they returned it in kind.

"Alright you all, time for me to go get pretty. See you in twenty minutes!"

Resting an arm around Luna's shoulders, he walked off of the stage with her.

Luna loved Diary Of Jane since it seemed to be a sad song, a song that had a deep meaning to the one singing it. She did a little back up with her voice though she refused to drown him out. The song seemed to be sad to her on some days, but she loved the sound of the song. And it was nice to have this time, she was just glad that she was able to play everything so far it was really fun. Being on stage with her friend meant everything to her. It was nice to make the crowd go ape shit over Charles.

But then as he walked off with her, she smiled a bit as the rush seemed to have worn off and it was nice. "Thank you Charles for that it really meant a lot to play for you" She said smiling at him. And hugged her friend, very happy that she had the chance even if it would be the last one, to jam with him it felt really fun and it was incredible. She looked at her reflection in the mirror and sighed a bit. She began to hum a song as she figured she would be off stage so wanted to make sure she looked good.

He returned her hug and smiled at her,

"Hey I told you that you will get your break, it's not as hard if you have somebody paving the road for you."

A stagehand ushered him away to change his clothing and to let the make-up artists get their hands on him again.

Luna looked up at him and smiled a little "Is that what your doing paving the way for me?" She said watching the makeup artist doing her thing and crossed her arms, turning her back when she thought he may change clothing. Since she did not want to appear like she enjoyed seeing him without clothing, though it was a nice idea.

He chuckled,

"No, just saying."

He slipped out of the shirt and into a new one, taking his electric guitar and plugging it in he gave Luna a smile.

"See you on the flip side I guess."

Luna looked back over her shoulder and smiled a bit, nodding to him with what he said. Sighing a bit she was escorted back to her seat and cheered with the rest of everyone, having no idea what Charles had planned.

The show went quite well, Charles was happy to have Luna there and he was just as glad that the fans loved the show. To think that one hit could turn him into a celebrity overnight. When the show finished he had a call waiting for him, it was Chuckles, he was a bit upset as the people paid up the money and signed the papers without even an argument, he didn't get to break anything.

Charles wished that he could tell Luna, but he had to duck away as numerous reporters and fans was waiting for him at the backstage exit. As much as he loved people, he was not really in the mood for them. He stayed as long as possible and then one of the security men smuggled him out the front. Soon he found himself in the van, listening to the chatter of the band members and the manager.

Luna enjoyed the way he sang and the way that he looked at her, it was rather refreshing. Right now she was to the point where everything just seemed to go his way. Which was a very good thing, she wanted him to be successful. Since she cared for him she wanted him to be very happy, no matter the cost. His singing made everyone scream and jump up and down, it was rather fun and funny to watch. People were strange at times, here she was knowing the man on the stage. But she didn't get nuts.

After the show she tried to find him, but he was no where to be found. And began to wonder if perhaps something happened. But with him being single, perhaps everyone wanted a piece of him. Which would have been funny to see, but on the other hand not so funny. She left the concert hall and began to walk to her car, unlocking it as she was humming one of the songs that he sang tonight. It was nice to feel so important, and it was also nice to be able to see him be happy.

He wondered when Luna would get the news of her debts being paid by the people which owed her. But in the days that followed, he forgot all about it as he was whisked away on a country-wide tour. It was the fastest that an artist held a tour of this magnitude, but Charles wasn't one to complain, what he did miss was that he could not phone or talk to Luna in the weeks that he was on the road.

It was hard not to get a letter or even a phone call, but she understood he had other things and he would be there. However she was able to get one letter to him, it was something she felt she had to say things. She did not exactly say she loved him or anything that was something she would tell him face to face if it ever got to that moment. She sighed a little bit just allowing things to come full circle for her. But she remembered what she wrote in the letter as well, it was just something from her to him.

Dear Charles,

I hope this gets to you, your manager promised me it would. I have a feeling you being who you are. You wish you could call or write, but I understand that you can't. I miss you very much, and hope you get everything that you deserve. Perhaps when you get back to town we can hold a party or something, or just go for a quite drink. I care for you Charles and there are things that need to be said, but I will tell them to you personally. Be safe on your tour and stay true to who you are.

Your Friend
Luna

A woman had a letter for him and smiled, she was the assistant to his manager. "Here this letter came it was promised it would reach you, its from Luna" She said handing it to him. It was a little package that she had. The letter but it was another guitar strap it was one of the best made, and it had his initials on the strap. On the other side it said Rock on, and Luna had hoped he would like it. Since she did not know what to get a guy like that. Since he was a rock star she figured it would mean something to him.

He was on his way out of his apartment when the package arrived, he stuffed it into his traveling bag and was out of the door to catch the Taxi to the airport. He was on his way to Britain for a show, things was moving fast and he still had to pinch himself at times to make sure he was awake.

During the flight he remembered the parcel and pulled it from the bag and opened it, he loved the strap, it just proved that Luna knew and understood him, he read the letter and noticed that she had included her address, that gave him a sure fire way to contact her, that worked for him.

After landing he took a few moments to buy a post card, he filled in the address and wrote a small note: "Dear Luna, thank you for the present, will use it tonight!!!" He got the Hotel to post it for him and got himself ready for the show, it was rushed, but he was grateful for this opportunity.

Luna felt really happy yet sad at the same time, it was always something really. And she did the best that she could do, but was it good enough? She had followed him easily in a scrap book, anything to do with him she cut out of the paper. She wished to be there but knew that she was perhaps turning into the bad type of fan. Which made her laugh because those were stalkers, but she wanted Charles happy and she could feel it. She was able to rent the concert through her computer.

But what amazed her was the fact that things were going on in her life, getting the money she was owed. She had opened her mail that day getting a ten thousand dollar check, and sat down on her couch with some warm tea. Trying to figure out certain things, with Charles gone it felt like her other half was missing. And it was then she realized just how much she truly cared for him, but would he feel anything but friendship to her? She was lost in so much as she remembered everything about their relationship.

They had just finished the England derby, three shows in three cities, he was already tired, but then James, his manager, came to visit.

"Charles, how do you feel about going to the Orient?"

Charles ran a hand through his hair,

"Like another tour like this?"

James shook his head,

"Not quite like this, you will perform at the same venue for three nights and then we will move to another city, they really want you over there Charles, this is a huge opportunity, I'd hate to let this slip."

Charles sighed,

"Well James, we will have to do it, the fans has to get pleased right?"

James got up and shook Charles' hand,

"You are not going to regret this."

As James left, Charles noticed his guitar, he got up and walked over, arranging the guitar in the old box, he touched the band and smiled as he thought of Luna. He missed her, he just hoped that she would get the post card he had sent.

Luna felt so lost thousands of miles away she was looking out at the moon, having no idea that Charles was looking at the same thing off in the distance. She was lost and lonely but she knew she had to hold her own, not to be weak. Weakness was something she never wanted, in moments like this it was very hard to even think. But she shrugged the feeling off and had been working on a special project. Though she had no idea when she would be able to perform it, but she was putting out all the stops.

She had been working day and night on his birthday present, though she followed him online the best she could. Watching footage and it made her feel close, though she missed her friend. She knew this was something he needed. She thought everything was going to be crazy, but all in all things were what they should be. Her stormy eyes looked around and began to hear things on the radio, hearing some of his songs. She forgot that moments had passed, she heard the mail man and saw the card.

Reading it tears formed in her eyes as she held it to her heart, and just crumbled on the floor. A moment of weakness that felt like a life time of weakness. Luna would never do this in front of people, in front of people she was solid nothing could hurt her. But now in moments like this? she just let herself go, things were as they should be she thought. Sadly she was lost and things that were happening were different to her. Reading the post card she ran her fingers against the words on the card.

"I miss you Charles" She said to herself.

It was a hectic month for Charles, the fans were fantastic, he signed his name so many times that he could swear his hand would cramp up. It was the last show before heading back home and he stood out on the stage looking out at the thousands of people as they chanted for more, he looked at the live stream camera and pointed at the screen,

"Luna, this one's for you."

He started to play the intro to "Sweet child o' mine" the live band quickly followed their queue as it's such a popular and also classical song.

"She's got a smile it seems to me
Reminds me of childhood memories
Where everything
Was as fresh as the bright blue sky
Now and then when I see her face
She takes me away to that special place
And if I'd stare too long
I'd probably break down and cry

Oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine

She's got eyes of the bluest skies
As if they thought of rain
I hate to look into those eyes
And see an ounce of pain
Her hair reminds me of a warm safe place
Where as a child I'd hide
And pray for the thunder
And the rain
To quietly pass me by

Oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine

Whoaaa yeah yeah
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet love of mine

Oh, oh, oh, oh
Sweet child o' mine
Oh,
Sweet love of mine"

Bass guitarist:

"Where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Where do we go?"

Charles:

"Oh,
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Oh, sweet child
Where do we go now?
Oh,
Where do we go now?
Oh,
Where do we go?
Oh,
Where do we go now?
Oh,
Where do we go?
Where do we go now?
Where do we go?
Oh,
Where do we go now?
No, no, no, no, no, no
Sweet child,
Sweet child of mine."

The final cords dies away under the cheers from the crowd and Charles smiles at the crowd,

"Thank you! You're awesome tonight, thank you!"

The Chinese manager comes onto the stage and addresses the people, then she turns to Charles,

"Mister Streak, we have had several online requests for a song that you have sung already, could you please as the final act sing Yesterday's Love?"

Charles nodded,

"Miss Yeung it will be my honor to do so."

This drew more cheers from the crowd and the woman made it from the stage, Charles started to play the intro,

"The picture of her still hangs in the hall
The one that I took by the beach
The day that we walked
For hours and hours
Talkin' 'bout how things would be

So many nights she slept in my arms
I never thought it would end
So I keep on telling myself that she's gone
But I can't get her out of my head
Yes I keep on sayin'
These words to myself
Over and over again

She's yesterday's love
She's yesterday's dreams
I know tomorrow will come
But I'm somewhere lost in between

She's yesterday's love
She's yesterday's dreams
I know tomorrow will come
And she'll live her life without me

She said she was mine
To have and to hold
Forever till death do us part
I gave her my love
She carried my name
But I couldn't carry her heart

So I'll just be holding my pillow tonight
Trying to stay warm in this bed
And I'll keep on telling myself that she's gone
But I can't get her out of my head
Yes I'll keep on saying
These words to myself
Over and over again

She's yesterday's love
She's yesterday's dreams
I know tomorrow will come
But I'm somewhere lost in between

She's yesterday's love
She's yesterday's dreams
I know tomorrow will come
And she'll live her life without me"

He added with a guitar solo that wasn't part of the song, but it drew even more cheers from crowd, when he finished fireworks fired from the front of the stage, mixing in with a remix of Charles' songs. Charles saw no reason to stay on stage and he was exhausted, he thanked the people, sponsors and managers and then left the stage.

Luna was watching the live feed and smiled when he said what he did, he truly was a man that was wonderful. She was glad to have known him, and some how felt a little sad at the same time. Looking down she began to wonder what if he met a girl over there, if he was to tell her he was dating she knew it would destroy her. She knew she had to tell him her feelings before it was much to late. But would he just see her as a friend and nothing more? She was so worried about things.

Some people who went from rags to riches lost themselves, but was glad when that did not happen to Charles, at least for now. Right now she had no idea how things were going to go, she was nervous that he would change. It was something she could never bear, and she knew that all to well. Listing to the songs he sang it helped her think. Think about what was important. What she was doing with his surprise hopefully with her song he would be able to see just how much he meant to her.

Two days after the tour he landed back home, reporters and fans was there to greet him and he was rather taken aback by it all, he never thought he would become quite this popular in so little time, he signed what he could, posed for what pictures he could before his agent beckoned him away. The ride back home was a short one and he was thankful to fall into his bed, he was rather tired and he laid there listening to the city as it moved outside.

She was really happy to know he was back but figured he would call or come to her when he was ready to get together. Since she had a feeling he was tired and needed some rest. Which she would have to if she had been through what he was. It was nice though to see him back and laid back relaxing enjoying herself. as she got up the next morning in great shape, enjoying life and finished up eating breakfast.

He woke up early the next morning, his first order of business was to start a pot of coffee, the second order of business was to unpack. A few hours later he sat at his desk, writing a new song with the old acoustic guitar on his lap as he played the cords he wrote down.

Luna couldn't take it any more so she ended up going on over to his place and knocked on the door to his place, crossing her arms. She could not help herself she hadn't seen the man in a very long time.
