Thank you for the music (closed)

She smiled at him a bit hearing everything and when he asked if she was okay she wasn't sure what to tell him, she just shrugged her shoulders looking at him.

"Yeah I'm alright just thought you had forgotten about me is all" She said simply
Looking around she didn't know what to feel about all this, looking at him she couldn't help but smile seeing him back.

"Forget about you?"

He was shocked,

"Now why on earth would I forget about you?"

Of course he had no idea that events soon would take him so far away from her that it would seem that he had indeed forgotten about her. But now he took her hand in his,

"You're my friend Luna, among all of these people surrounding me, you picked me. I can not forget my magical lucky charm."

Luna listened to him seeing him take her hand and smiled looking at him. "But there will come a time when you are so popular, away all the time. I am afraid you will forget about me, and it wont be your fault either. Soon you will be a big shot and all I will be is the friend that is in your shadow" She said softly.

"A true friend is never in the shadow of another friend, no matter the popularity of the friend. You should know that Luna."

He wasn't very happy with her view of him. It has changed drastically, he had finally seemed to have gotten his break and his only real friend seemed quite upset with it

She looked at him and shrugged "What would you have me think Charles when you vanished for a good week until you sent me that letter? I thought you had been hurt or worse. " looking down shaking her head. "I'm sorry, just not use to not talking to you every day" She said sighing softly.

"It happened too suddenly, I can't be held accountable for that."

He placed his guitar into it's case and got to his feet.

"I had thought you of all people would be happy and would at least understand. Guess I was wrong."

He turned and walked away, hailing a Taxi he got in and asked for the adress, the car drawing away immediately.

She got up running after him but the cab was driving away and she took off after it.

"Charles stop!" She shouted and kept running but after three blocks she tripped and fell hard on the ground. Tears fell down her face "Stop...." She said in a whisper. She silently cried as she slowly stood up and limped away slowly.

Had he looked back he would have stopped the vehichle, but he didn't and as he arrived at his new apartment he felt a loss that no words could describe. The rest of the day he sat in a chair, playing his electric guitar and fell asleep like that. He awoke the next morning to an urgent knocking, he got up with a groan and slowly walked to the door, the guitar still clutched in his hand, the wire barely long enough to make it to the door and he opened it.

"You are famous Charles!"

He rubbed his eyes and looked at the young intern,

"What?"

"Yesterday's Love went viral, your first single is selling like hot cake and there is a demand for more songs from you."

Charles scoffed,

"Yeah, now people want mor of me, when I had to play on a park bench I was nothing. Let me tell you one thing, the people are fickle, they will soon just forget me again."

He added softly,

"Or just judge me."

He turned back and placed the guitar on it's stand, putting on some coffee he grabbed a shower and soon he was ready, he left with the young man, he still didn't see what the fuss was about. He just wanted to make music, on the way to the studio he didn't see his name on banners and posters, he was too busy thinking about more songs and through that take his mind off of Luna.

Luna sighed softly and shook her head, she wasn't going to let it be this way. She did some checking, called in favors to see where Charles was going to be and pulling a few favors from the police department she smiled happily at her idea. Thankfully they were not at a big building and was on the first floor. So she did what she did best, to play and seeing a few windows open she smiled happily this was her chance to make things right. She thought about what best to do, and then she remembered a song she wrote for him.

She had her guitar plugged into a speaker and took a deep breath and music began to play very loudly. She didn't care what anyone thought but she was doing this for him, she made a mistake. And she hadn't seen him in a while so she needed to make this right, and making sure it would be easy to hear she put the juice high. And began to sing, hoping to see him.

Never Alone By Barlow Girls

He was busy in the studio, he was alone with his new guitar, there was a sound engineer, but he was kicking back until Charles told him that he was ready. Charles was lost in the song he was composing on the go, he did not see the door open and almost fell from the chair when a voice suddenly shouted into his headphones:

"Charles!"

He looked around confused and saw the producer standing in the recording booth.

"Yes?"

"I think you better come look at this, seems like some fan came to declare her love for you."

Charles frowned, took off his earphones and set the guitar aside, walking with the producer his frowned deepened as he heard a familiar voice. Then through the window he saw her, he would not lie, his heart skipped a beat and a small smile tugged at the corners of his mouth.

"I'll get security..."

"No wait. I know her. She is the one who helped me write Yesterday's Love."

He walked to an open window and climbed into the window and sat down, swinging his feet as he looked at Luna making a real spectacle of herself. When the song finished he clapped hands for her and jumped off of the sill, he walked over to her and stopped just short, crossing his arms in front of his chest.

"Nice song, what are you doing here Luna?"

Luna looked up at him and smiled softly this was her chance to tell him everything, she held her head up high and took a deep silent breath. She didn't care what anyone would say, but could feel eyes right on her. She was his first fan, one who saw something in him. But perhaps his success did scare her. Everything she thought he did wasn't him at all, but the song said it all and thought for a moment on how to talk to him. As she stopped short of him as well, seeing his posture she couldn't read him yet.

"I came here to apologize Charles, I know I hurt you turned my back on you with everything that has happened. And I hate myself for what I said, they say that actions speak louder then words. This song I wrote for you I just finished it last night. I care for you and was afraid I had lost you, but I know that even if I can't see you. You are always with me" She felt tears in her eyes and couldn't do anything about them, but they fell she didn't expect him to forgive her. "And I will understand if you don't forgive me, I don't deserve it" She admitted.

He shook his head,

"My dear Luna, did you not listen to me in the park? I told you that you will always be my dearest friend."

He loosened his arms and motioned around them,

"Did it have to come to this for you to realize what I meant?"

He smiled and brushed the stray tears from her cheek,

"Grab your things and come with me, I think you will not mind making a few more friends in the music business."

He waited for her to decide what she wanted to do.

She felt his hand on her cheek and smiled at him looking up at him, grabbing her stuff and gear she had no idea what would happen and she followed him inside putting her things in a corner and out of the way so no one tripped over it. Looking around she smiled at Charles, she had never exactly been in this place but dealt with people who had like secretaries.

Inside he led her to the various engineers, recorders, producers and the members of the band that was there. Everybody seemed a bit taken a back to see that there was somebody that he actually knew and who seemed to know a bit more about him, than they did. Of course questions arose if they were a couple, but Charles denied it. They were just friends and she came here because they had a fight. Eventually Charles made it back to the recording booth, with Luna seated with the sound engineer. Charles picked up the guitar again and started to sing softly:

"What's he like when he turns around to kiss you goodnight?
When he wakes up in the morning by your side?
What's he like?

What's he like?
The yellow moon or the deep blue of the sea?
Do you feel the same way you did when it was me?
What's he like?

Oh I've been holding on
I've been holding on for far too long
I've been holding on
I've been holding on much too long.

What's he like when you're making love and stars are in your eyes?
When you're looking for the answers in his smile?
What's he like?

Oh I've been holding on
I've been holding on for far too long
I've been holding on
I've been holding on much too long
Too long.

I never knew I could love somebody the way I loved you
I never thought I'd be the broken-hearted
Well, nothing hurts you like the truth.

So what's he like when he turns to you, when push comes to shove?
When he whispers in your ear that he's in love?
What's she like?

Oh I've been holding on
I've been holding on for far too long
I've been holding on
I've been holding on much too long
So what's she like?"

He stopped and added a few touches on the paper he had written the song on,

"Of course with the upbeat I would need drums, you agree with that?"

Luna felt happy to have made up with him and sitting with the sound guy she listened to what he said and smiled. "I think it would be good with drums if there was a drum set here I could match the beat easily see how it sounds" She said unsure if there was a drum set but she could do anything she set her mind to.

The sound engineer chuckled,

"Of course there is a set, but this is the guy's job. He gets paid per recording, so that would be taking bread out of his mouth. I'll just give him a buzz, he is in the building."

He reached for his phone and pressed a set of buttons, then he sat back.

"So you're into music as well?"

She looked at the guy and crossed his arms and nodded. "Very much so yes, before Charles got famous me and him did a lot of singing together. I have been writing music since I was ten years old, I play all kinds of musical instruments. Music was my life till I met Charles, even have a new song that Charles doesn't even know about." She sighed a bit. "But I am happy for him, I would never take the spot life off him and never try to"

The man nodded and was about to reply when the door opened to let another man in, he motioned to the recording studio. As the drummer entered and talked with Charles, who quickly demonstrated the pace and rhythm he needed from the drums, the engineer turned to Luna again.

"You probably didn't know this, but he had put your name up as author to most of the songs on the CD we're recording. This is the only one he had no paper for, he wrote it this morning."

She looked at him "What?" She was floored by what he said to her, she was very surprised indeed about this, and looked at Charles she smiled happily and silently sighed a bit. "I helped him on a few songs, but I am touched thank you for letting me know" She said with a kind smile on her face and looked back at Charles on the other side of the booth.

When they were ready Charles started again, this time the added drums changed the whole song, though the words still said the same, it went from a song filled with sadness to a song filled with a bit more retribution of how the writer more started to get over a bad breakup. When it was done he gave the engineer a questioning look,

"I think it's much better now. Could we perhaps put this on recording and see how it works out?"

She smiled at Charles and just let them talk back and forth to each other, sitting back she sighed happily and was rather excited that she was here and knew they had to celebrate so she would have to figure out where to go, perhaps to the place they both liked, nothing fancy just simple

As they started again and the red light indicated that there was a recording taking place, the door opened and the producer slipped in. He stood there listening to the new song, he nodded and turned to Luna.

"Man's got talent, wonder where he hid away all this time."

She looked over at him and smiled "He was singing to get by with his bills, guess he wont have trouble with it now" She said happy for him, crossing one leg over the other as she sighed happily. She loved the way Charles sang it made her really happy.

When he was done he looked over at the recording booth, he was surprised to see Luna talking with Lennard, but that was why he had invited her in wasn't it? To make friends.

She looked up seeing Charles and smiled at him, she thanked the guy for his time and walked up to Charles. "You were great" She said with a big smile on her face hugging him.
