Texas Roll Call!

Good morning.

Shmily glad your doing ok up there.

It is warming up and the repair list grows here as things thaw out.

Such is life....

Good luck everyone

So the dumbass condo Unit owner at the end of our building didn't turn the heat on in the vacant unit and it flooded .. Whilst I have no water damage from their fucking pipes busting.. To turn off their pipes they have to shut down the water to all 4 of the units in our building.

This will never end

I am the owner .. Don't think the Mortgage company would like that idea

Just saw a feature on Ellen de Generes's show about Mattress Mac doing his thing again. He always comes through for Houston.

Finally have water after 8 days without, then I talk with a woman who doesn't have electricity or water.....so sad.

I really need too find the neighbor that puts this yappy ass dog out between 5 and 530 every freaking day and leaves it for an hour. No matter where in the house its all i hear so no relaxing.

That is weird. Russ a dj here in DFW foe decades. Someone i knew and im just in shock

I knew he had some medical stuff going on for the last couple of years.

I first heard of him when he had his "Local Scene " Show with JD way back in the day

So shocked people havent popped in here w their opinions of the Abbott lifts next week.

Lifting the mask mandate I don't really understand but opening the businesses I can understand. Hopefully the businesses that do open will do so in a safe way.

At least it will get more people back to work that are suffering without jobs right now.

It is a mixed bag for me.

I feel more and more comfortable going into a lot of places, IF people are wearing masks. If businesses will continue to restrict capacity and require masks, we might be able to get away with it, ONLY if people keep wearing masks around others. What are the odds of that? I'd say close to zero. And with spring break coming up, I think his timing is stupendously stupid.

I have cared for MANY COVID patients, have seen the ugly side of it and the not so ugly. Last week I cared for 5 intubated COVID patients.

I wear a mask for other's safety; not my own.

While the state mandate is clear corporations still have the ability to implement rules regarding their business; meaning, many still may require you to wear a mask. I think it will be a long time before you see everyone walking around mask-free and I suspect I'll be wearing an N-95 for at least another year.

I was exposed to Covid and we were 6 ft apart and both wearing masks. For one day. I got Covid.

Just never know.

today was a beautiful day - and i was stuck inside most of the day. Day off tomorrow hope the day is just as nice. Going to spend as much as i can outside.

Agreed. I am in medical too. I have seen hundreds of covud positive and because of masks and proper hand washing and such....notta. I do have 2 coworkers not as diligent and both got it. Glad opening things back but we will see

So apparently, elected officials in Texas didn't think they killed enough people with their energy fuckup 2 weeks ago, now they're asking the state's residents to hold their beers while they open everything up?

In Maryland, we still have a mask mandate, and where I am, lots of people complain, but they have to wear them. You just can't really help stupid, so that's why we have laws, otherwise people will just do idiotic things.

What's it like in Texas now? Masks work best when everyone wears them. They keep you from unloading what's in your throat, mouth, and nose on my face and me from inhaling your grossness. Will there be any repercussions from these bad decisions, or do Texans really not care?

*snip*

Of course we care. We are as flabbergasted as anyone at this decision. Social media is abuzz with people discussing it, and the majority are adamant that they will keep wearing masks. There are listings on various city websites of businesses who will continue to require employees and customers to wear them. Hopefully they will find it's a better idea to do so than not. If the positivity percentages and hospitalizations go back up, and I don't see how they won't, hopefully it will force the governor to reinstate at least some of the restrictions.

I got my first shot yesterday and have already scheduled the 2nd one. Looks like ill be 11 days in for opening day!
