Last year I started a new investment, a modest amount of money. The result is they reported long term and short term capital gains, AND dividends with qualified dividends. The additional forms and complex calculations just not worth the amount of earnings.

I know what you mean. My financial guy is very fond of a certain type of investment that is WAAAAY complicated to do the taxes on, plus they're not required to even get their final tax info to you until April, so I have to file for an extension every year. I have a hell of a time even filling out the information to give my bookkeeper who then fills out the even more complicated tax return. It ain't worth it.
