Evening Texans! It is getting muggy out there.. or so my hair is saying when I look in the mirror. lol

Good morning Texas! I opened up the blinds and window wide in my bedroom about 3 and lay back in bed and watched the flashes and listened to the thunder and rain until I fell back to sleep.. nice way to start a morning off.

Would have been so great to have been there!

Tax returns.. grrrrr. I still have one more left and waiting on the K1 to get here for the hubby's partnership.

Last year I started a new investment, a modest amount of money. The result is they reported long term and short term capital gains, AND dividends with qualified dividends. The additional forms and complex calculations just not worth the amount of earnings. :(

Nothing simple anymore when it comes to the irs.

{Sorry if this sounds too political. I try to avoid politics here on Lit}

I agree that nothing simple comes from the IRS.

However, I don't blame IRS for the complexities of the tax laws. They, unfortunately have the miserable job to implement and enforce the tax laws. The complexities of the tax laws were all written by Congress. Personally I find it somewhat hypocritical that Congress complains about the IRS when most of the contentious issues are a result of laws written by Congress. Just my opinion.
