Seeing the reports and videos and photos, my heart goes out to anyone affected either directly or indirectly by the hurricane. I have been flooded out my self and know the heartache and despair it brings. Rest assured it will get better...but respect to all those working to help and love to all those who need it right now.

I echo this...

I wish everyone in Texas the best of luck. Possession can be replaced, your family can't. My prayers go out to all of you.

PS, scoop up all the water and dump it on us in Oregon. We're getting burned out by forest fires.

I am 400 miles from the coast, and we could use just a bit of that rain here.....but, nada :(

The D/FW area(where I am) got some rain from the outer rain bands the first couple of days but since then it's been dry.

I lived in Houston for many years, and I love it and its spirit and people. It is heartbreaking to see the pictures of the devastation. I can't fathom what the city will look like this time next week, or how it can even know where to start to rebuild. And Rockport - my family went there on vacation every year when I was growing up. Every single structure is at least damaged now - they don't even have a place to receive supplies. Please, everyone, bond together to pray, send good thoughts and energy or whatever, to lift up all of those left with nothing. The power of many is capable of producing miracles. Please leave behind the sniping, hatred, and ugliness of recent times and remember that all of us, in the end, need to rely on each other.

I'm over in Tampa Bay area and we even got some heavy rains and flooding from the tropical depression right behind Harvey. The Astros are moving here for a few games/series playing at the Trop about 10 minutes from my place. First Responder wise we've got a few search & rescue teams all loading up and headed over in waves. Some are already there and more on the way as well as the linemen from the electric companies. They were also doing a local fund raiser on TV this morning to send money thru the Red Cross. And there was news of a few shelters lining up to help with pets that were lost or abandoned during Harvey.

I just wish there was more we could do.:(
