Right of the bat...I'm dubious of the 10,000% number...anyone have information on this?

The frozen windmill thing doesn't fly except with Repubs....other places in the world, much colder, have running windmills.

This stood out though..."The Lone Star State is ... all alone. Texas made a conscious decision to isolate its energy grid from the rest of the country. That means that when things are running smoothly, it can't export excess power to neighboring states. And in the current crisis, it can't import power either. "

Ya kind get what you deserve when you keep thinking ya know best or better than the rest of the country. This is a Republiturd way of thinking if I ever saw one.

It sucks because you just hurt your own people bigly!

No, obviously it's not! I mean, do you have the slightest idea of how cheap should electricity be in reality? Well, I know for sure that it has to be for free, because it's something vital, but capitalism and well, everyone is pretty greedy now. However, there are ways to minimalize the costs. Here Simply Switch you will find some precious advises on how to change your electricity supplier and why you must do this. More than that, it’s important to understand that if you will not imply in all of that stuff, things won’t change, never!

Lol. Another socialist Republican....or i mean "Libertarian ".

Going all-in on "renewables" is a recipe for disaster, no matter what party does it. If you want low-carbon, plentiful electricity and you're not talking about nuclear, you're not serious.

Fusion is renewable, but fission is not.

Read where California is now having similar rolling power outage problems because of it's dreams of green energy solving all of its problems. They shut down Nuclear plants, haven't built any new energy plants, and no new dams despite continuing drought conditions. They let billions of Acre feet of water run wastefully into the ocean.

Fusion is renewable, but fission is not.

But there is a vast fuel supply for fission. Could keep us going until fusion is possible.

My brother, an engineer (software, not nuclear), assures me that present technology is sufficient to certainly prevent meltdowns like Three Mile Island and Chernobyl. As for Fukushima, the lesson there is, "Don't build nuclear power plants near an earthquake fault," which means, "anywhere in Japan."

The only real problem with fission is waste disposal. Otherwise, the objections to it are more ideological than scientific.

Democrats hate nuclear power because it is the solution they want to avoid.

Best non-Korean horseshit revisionism I've seen today! ^^^^

The simple fact is that the power grid suppliers did a cost benefit analysis of bring their grid to statewide compliance vs paying fines for "rolling blackouts" and opted for the latter to "maximize shareholder value".

Fuck the actual consumer, they gots to please teh investors.

Sounds kind of tautological -- why would they want to avoid it?

Because as AOC's former Chief of Staff (who actually wrote the GND), the GND isn't an environmental thing, it's a reorder the economy thing.

Wind and solar are going to require a massive and wrenching change in society. Nuclear does not. The Left wants the wrenching changes to provide an opportunity to shoehorn in its collectivist agenda.

The existence of the Chernobyl Exclusion Zone makes a mockery of your nutty statement.
