Sinus unfections suck rocks. I went through about nine months where I flip-flopped between having a sinus infection or an ear infection almost constantly. :(

Get better soon! :)

I'm back

I've been gone for ever, getting everything settled with my move. Maybe it's finally done.

I'm now located in Houston . . . some place called Katy, not sure how much I like this

I hate Katy and almost all the suburbs. But Houston itself is actually pretty cool. There are a LOT of cool things to do and places to go. Unfortunately you would have to take the Katy Freeway to get there. *Cringes* That part REALLY sucks.

Hey don't go dissing my freeway. You just have to learn to find alternative routes when the traffic gets too bad. Hmmm maybe that's why I haven't driven on it in a long time. I guess you have a point.

Personally, I never drive in Houston. :D

Then again...I hate ALL freeway driving for the most part.

And I liked living in Amarillo as well. :)

I miss my amarillo rush hour a lot. When traffic meant it took 15 minutes instead of 10 for me to get home.

I don't think I'd hate the freeways so much if it wasnt for all the damn construction going on.

Melligrl - You have got to go for a drive through Memorial Park during rush hour. The view will make you pleased you had to slow down! :D

Memorial Drive is also a great alternative to sections of I-10!

Anything away from I-10 is great yesterday when I had to go downtown I just stayed of the frontage, it was faster then the freeway.

I played an excellent alternative route driver last night. SUCKED big time when my alternate route from the freeway being closed (who closes the entire freeway???) was shut down to one lane for construction. You'd THINK they could plan a little better on such things? Thankfully I'm Wild Cherry was still there and we were only about 20 min late. I hadn't planned a tour of Houston's NW side, inner loop, heights and warehouse district just to get to the restaurant. I'll know better next time.

Dontcha know it's good to have at least 3 alternate routes in mind in this crazy city!

Perhaps even a full tank of gas!

I've determined that traffic in Houston is the worst I've ever been in. That includes LA on the 405 N from LAX at 5:30pm on a weekday. I don't have to go to Houston very often but more often then not when I go traffic is a complete mess.

Oh, btw, hi from San Antonio! :D

I have to agree with that...with having been to Houston regularly in the past year, I believe now that it is worse than Austin traffic LOL they truly fit the mold of being an a-hole drive there

Austin drivers just like to drive around like they own the road and when you do something they may not like, they just shoot ya the finger!

San Antonio though is where I think all the slow drivers went LOL just always have had a bad experience when I goto SA

Anyway, the construction is here to stay - they're building toll roads here right now and I have given up on trying to keep my truck clean LOL

btw 32 yr old male from Round Rock (north of Austin) just lookin around having fun and making friends where I can

Hey! We aren't that bad! You just need to learn to drive offensively like the rest of us and you will learn to appreciate how we manage to get around this town in less than two hours! Who ever heard of Defensive Driving in Houston!? Pansies.

And to all my Texas friends . . .

Good morning -- and how 'bout dem Sooners? :D

Heh.

I took defensive driving at a comedy thing around here once, the guy basically said this at one point during the class.

He called it Defensive Driving in Houston 101

Rule 1. A good defense is a great offense.
Rule 2. If your car can't take the heat, stay in the RIGHT lane.
Rule 3. Always go as fast as the rest of the traffic around you, or take the feeder.

:D

And when I was learning to drive, the teacher told me to treat traffic like dodge ball, learn to watch out for the idiots ahead of time and you can get through it without a problem.

I like rule #3 best!

hope it does not rain

Just do not get caught in harris county when it rains for an extended amount of time because the area is prone to flooding. "Turn around do not drown". Have a nice day...:D

The streets flood and the bayou (read "drainage ditch") in the backyard does nothing. The sibs were really looking forward to it rising, they are in search of turtles.

Heh. Well, living down here (and rubbing the last five years in friends' faces), I know y'all will get your chance for paybacks someday.

After Mack leaves, that is.

Keep smilin'!

I have a friend who says the same thing, he used to be a great supporter of Mack, but no longer. The man is slipping and the Young/Mock controversy isn't helping them.

My only consolation is that is wasn't the stomping that it was last year.
