Off to hospital in the morning for observations and then 'maybe' testing. Jesus, i'm so glad this isn't serious enough to warrant widely available testing and simple processes...

Shouldn't be too hard to get tested if you describe as such and your work.
They are cranking up the mining flights within the state over here. New procedure is, like on Emirates, you show up and they do the finger tip prick blood test. 3 mins later it shows up with whether you have antibodies or not. If negative, the wrist band goes on and off to the plane you go. If positive, you get a test done. Interestingly, and as widely suspected, there were 7 guys that showed up antibody positive on the first day but no symptoms and tested negative. They described getting sick after traveling to China last year between September and December, hence antibodies.
BTW, a Bertram 42 now on its third owner. It has to live in a pen. An expensive hobby, but better to have a boat than an energetic lady on the side. Looking at the fuel and mooring bills I sometimes think I should just offer him a sanctioned mistress.

Sorry to hear, I went thru similar crap early last week. Bunch of crap too find out I just had a bad head & chest cold, compounded by severe allergies. Yeah I'm one of the essential people, you'd thinking they'd make it easier for us!!!!

Feeling much better after three days working from home.

An Amazon order i was waiting on arrived. Tom won a story contest on here a while ago and got 150 US to spend on Amazon so he bought us an intercom system for our helmets and some pretty skirts for me.

Oh and a pair of Nana knickers. Not very flattering but super comfortable.

Can't wait till the restrictions lift and he can take me fishing and on the bike again.

Well hello again. Been MIA with health and work and something of a cyclic redundancy error. It's monthly and it's redundant.

Nasty cold change just came through in the last two days. Overnight our lovely long autumn turned into poo winter. Only thing good about winter is Hubby is furry and warm, he makes me fires and... um no that's about all that is good about winter.

In other news, locally they have relaxed fishing bans and re-opened dams and weirs so long as you are within 50km of home which leaves us a number of local possibilities. Woohoo! Going to dig some worms when i've defrosted and caffeinated.

Oh, sorry for shit quality, but nothing like a good fire to warm your ah... cockles.

Nice fire. I wouldn't mind one as the nights have got a bit unseasonably colder. Must be easterlies off the land. Shame we don't have Ayu fish in the rivers here, I'd like to do the on sticks around the fire slow cooking thing.

Hubby goes to Fraser island most years with his mates and brings back a lot of Tailor fish that are pretty oily too. They go in the smoker. We have small spangled perch in our local creeks and dams that would go well on sticks. They're plentiful but a pain in the bum to fillet because of their size. Will have to give it a go.

But having just come through a Canadian winter, I wonder what a winter is like in Oz? Here we expect a high of 11C and a low tonight of 1C (above freezing two nights in a row!). Right now its crept all the way to 5C

Where i live is probably one of the mildest climates in Australia. Summer rarely gets higher than mid thirties and every evening just on dusk a sea breeze rolls in even though we are over two hours drive from the coast. In eleven years living here we haven't needed anything stronger than a pedestal fan to be comfortable through the night.

Autumn and spring are about a month or so long, summer stretches from mid September through to late March, early April. Winter from Mid May to the end of August.

Winter is very mild as well. We get a month or so where temperatures drop to just below zero over night but every day usually warms up into the low twenties by lunch. It doesn't snow here but we get savage frosts in late July and August.

I've lived in parts of Queensland out bush where it drops to minus 7 overnight but it still gets up into the twenties by midday. In the southern states and central highlands there is snow mostly around the ranges.

Canada looks so pretty but i couldn't deal with cold like that.

Yesterday warmed up nicely. We got some things done around the yard then settled in for some beers by firelight. Found this little inch worm. It amused the kids for a little while before a chook took it.

Beers do what beers do, so like a proper country girl, i found a private place to wee. Squatting there i wondered what the fuck the old boy was trying to do when he did this.

He reckoned he wanted to see if urine would clean the rims. I reckon he's just a fifty year old child. In anycase this was the view as the sun dropped over our bush kitchen.

Once the tribe was off to bed, i finally got a chance to try out one of my new toys that the government paid for with their stimulus package. And oh my fucking squirty god...

Now, i'm comfortable being that girl who makes a bit of extra moisture when i orgasm during sex, but holy showering sprinklers boy wonder. Today, the old boy took me to one of our local spots but some arsehole was already set up there so we decided just to go and enjoy the afternoon at a nearby bridge where we've only ever caught bloody turtles and watched feral goldfish swim about. Was a brilliant afternoon anyway, soaking up the winter sun and drowning worms.

This was his lordships effort... A small spangled perch. They don't grow much larger but that one definitely went back home to mummy. Nice eating but a pain to process cause of their size.

So i had to go one better. I hooked this thing and it went straight for that bloody patch of weed and rolled and rolled until i thought my line was going to snap from the weight of the weed. I left the drag alone and pulled it slowly through all the way to the edge where i remembered that we left the net at home. Grabbed the line and 'snap'...

It was an eel tailed catty, so i knew if i popped my bait back in the same spot that it or it's mate would try and shift it again. They keep a kind of 'den' on the bottom of the river with a hole in the centre and clean rocks and things out of it. Not more than thirty minutes later, bam...

The moment i knew i had it on, i took off to the side to try and steer him away from the weeds and Tom kicked off his thongs and took a bucket down to scoop him out of the water. (Never forget the landing net.)

A lot of people throw them back because they have a leathery skin that's slimy and tastes really muddy. The old boy just skins the fillets and i rate the flesh higher than all the other fresh water species. It's sweet and flaky and clean tasting. Just got to get that skin off and watch out for the three barbs on it's head. I leave the handling to Tom.
