Hello all! It's been a long time since I was here. Had a some surgery, some complications, and some more surgery. I haven't really had the energy or the focus to get any writing done.

But over the past few week or so it's like the floodgates opened. I finished 2 entire novella length slow burn romance stories and I am approximately 12k words into a 3rd. I intended for it to be a short, sexy story for a friend but the slow burn is real - so far they've kissed. Twice.

The first two I submitted for publication in Gay Male and I'm just waiting for the verdict. It's two cis men, mild BDSM elements but less than I've seen in a lot of stories in that category.

The third one, the WIP, I am hesitating to put up.
See, it's another gay trans male/cis male romance. And the audience here has been...let's just say, less than receptive to that flavor of romance?

The pros of putting it up - it features a trans male dominant. As far as I can tell, this is basically a non-existent category everywhere online. As of this point, his trans status is known and has not really affected the plot, but I intend for it to come up again later.

Also, if I can say this without sounding arrogant, it's shaping up to be really good. It's funny, it's emotionally devastating, it's The Most British Space Romance Ever.

Now that I write this, I think I may have rubber-ducked my way around to a solution. I was trying to choose between Gay Male and Transgender. But I think it goes in Romance. Thoughts?

And if I post it and ya'll can't be normal about trans men, I just won't give you the rest of the chapters.

My first thought is that Romance readers are, I think, a conservative lot, and I fear you will spook the kittens.

Based on your description, either Transgender or Gay Male. Based on the squick reaction in GM, then Transgender seems obvious to me.

That is a fair concern.
I had good luck with a what is technically a queer romance if you squint (the main character flirts with a sentient cloud - I promise it makes sense in context) but it's also just as easily read as straight.

For me the category depends on who I want to be my chosen audience. Whatever category you choose, tag it appropriately. For me, just reading your post, a nice happily ever after romance regardless of how the MC and LI identify, romance would be my choice. However lit is an erotic site so romance might not fit. Have you checked out any of the stories in the transgender category? Perhaps that might be the place though people usually think M2F v F2M

I just got two more chapters written and it just became a major plot point.
So I guess it goes in TG.
I have no idea what category I'd start looking in, to find a t-masc Dom story. Well, no. *I* would start in BDSM for that. But i guess other people don't.
Don't let the assholes ruin it for the appreciators.
Thanks.
I had also forgotten about pending-purgatory and the crazy AI flagging here. If my current pending stuff goes through without trouble I'll start putting up this one.

At least they finally had sex. It only took fourteen chapters of them being pointedly formal at each other.

I do wish for a Queer Romance category at times. You can get away with a non-sex romance in Lesbian Sex if you're upfront about it. But a Queer Romance category that covers any non-hetero romance would be nice.
