Got me stumped

"http://www.literotica.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=2372404" Won't work with the vB IMG tags because it's NOT an image -- it's a script call to "attachment.php" that diplays an image.

The IMG tags only work with images -- URLs that end with .JPG, .GIF, .BMP or the like. If a URL ends with .PHP, .CGI, numbers, or some qualifier, it's NOT an image even if will display an image when used in an HTML "IMG SRC=" command.

<IMG SRC="http://www.literotica.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=2372404"> will display the image (when HTML is ON) but {IMG]http://www.literotica.com/forum/attachment.php?s=&postid=2372404[/IMG} won't -- I'm actually surprised that it dispalys the URL instead of a red-X.

Thanks Harold

Strange though, cos it used to work, you could post a pic, then link to it!

Took the pic out, much tooooooo big!

Now this is the origional that Gem was trying to post

It was possible to post a pic from your pc, then link it to use in sig lines or as an image, I am sure it used to work!

Thinks hard.

Doh, well I could be wrong.

It does work in signatures it doesn't work in the body of posts -- and it has to use the HTML command instead of the IMG tags.

The IMG tags have always required an image as the target URL.

Perhaps you're thinking of when attachments automatically displayed before that function was changed to show a link?

Thanks Harold

Maybe, must be tired!

Glad to see you being so helpful here, sadly I am not around that much to be that helpful!

LOL

Geocities is notorious for blocking hotlinking -- ie using their pictures in the IMG command.

Thank you Harold. Changed it right away.

You're welcome. I've found that, with the exception of animated gifs, it's usually best to size avatars right to the 150 pixel limit. Yous was one of the few that took expanding well, though.
