Does anyone else think that ten-word thread is a gold mine? I do. There are gazillions of little gems in there--great exchanges among poets.

This is an easy fun challenge, and you can decide between the contributors whether you want to submit them at Lit. Find an exchange of ten-word posts. You can use more than two poets if you want. Put the posts together in a poem and post them in this thread.

It's "found" poetry.

Here's an example of something Tathagata started (or maybe fawnie the night before, but I started here). Liar responded and then Tath and I wrote a few more. I edited just a bit to pull it together:

Food and sex,
both are great
on dining room tables,
but only one
works just as well
under it unless
you are a dog,
then either one will do.

Dinnertime
One paw rests on my toe--
insistent scrap anticipation,
cats on the table,
indignant
at not having chairs

Cats are indifferent.
Dogs are persistant.
Life
is quixotic.

Try it. It's fun!

Instead of re-assembling collaborative chain poem, I'll just be so bold as to bluntly repost something that made me grin from ear to ear when I went back to read the thread from the first page. I absolutely fell in love with it.

LOL! I remember writing that. Actually I think I've said those things more than once. A lot more. :D

Here's one

I made from various eagleyez posts in the thread--

Just dark
frost already windshields
crystal but i aint cold.

First snow moonless nite,
collar turned up
walk slow, whistling,
and the snow ceases,
the clouds part

viola
luna up there,

day upon nite upon day
that delirious moon,
our reflection scrawled
in last lite--

another tiny bomb
set to go.

food for thought...

Sate my Mistress' appetite,
The scent's enough for me.
Melt like soft butter,
Sizzling over my open flame.

Scent of melted butter,
Sizzling sounds,
Hunger grows,
What's cooking?

veggies ripe,
raw tenderized meat,
soy saucy delicious,
stir fry cuisine

if cooked to perfection,
tender, juicy, succulent,
...prey

Dinnertime
One paw rests on my toe--
insistent scrap anticipation

if hunger calls
snap the lease....
it's suppertime.

He bides,
His Mistress will
Bring a dish,
Won't she?

wanna be the salad?

Whispered words:
“Will you?”
“Yes!” I cry,
“Yes, I’m yours!”

..and dessert...

Two scoops
Vanilla ice cream
Cherries on top
Banana split!

there's so much food to choose from in there!
:D

Too good! Mutt and tara need to put their 'barfly' exchange together in one long poem. It would be perfect.

Barfly Cool

Workday beat
Grime-lined hands
Thirsty to his soul

Tonight glows like yesterday
Bathed in
Miller light

Tomorrow will shine
Brighter
Unless the gambler
Overplays his hand

Cigarette smoke and baby powder
Stripclub perfume
Barfly cool

Her face
Lined by bad decisions
Her body regrets
None

Sniff me out in saloons
The walk and talk
Invitation

Buy me a drink
Decision spills out
With the whiskey

Intoxicating substance
Intellect
Dazzling charm
Wit
Make scent so arousing

More handsome
More witty
More charming
The more he drinks

Folding money talks
Drunken words charm
Until you're broke

Empty Glass
Empty wallet
Empty promises
Empty eyes
Empty bed

Buzz and circle
Land on a suit
Of empty clothes

Pick-up
In the parking lot
His one sure thing

Returning each night
Lured by the sign
Free Beer Tomorrow.

Miss Blackwood,
I hope you will have a go at this one as well. You are much better at this type of poetry than I.
Mutt
:rose:

Thanks guys--I love it too. There's books in that ten-word thread, I tell ya. :D

:rose:

Tara said she doesn't even know what this thread is about, and is too lazy to read from the top.

Can anyone explain...in 10 words or less, of course? :D

invasion -new poem.

Well *I* happen to believe that Tara is an excellent reader, but I like her a lot so...

Read that
ten word thread.
See what you like
there.

Maybe just one
poet or poemella
will appeal.
Maybe more.

You might
find two or three.
Who knows?
Maybe more,

maybe successive
posts will do it.
Maybe they'll be
apart,

but somehow
a poem will emerge.
You will say
aha,

and copy it
into this thread.
You might even
edit,

move lines a bit,
add a comma, or
something else,

and when you are done
and ready to hit submit,

you will have written
a brand new
collaborative
found poem.

Just try to remember
a time in September
--no wait.

Try to give credit
to the original poets.
That's it.

ok?

Tara says thank you very much, Ang. , and she credits your writing skills and not her reading for the understanding of your explanation.

That's why you're the best, and you rock.

There's just no taking the "Jersey" out of you and Tara, is there. :rose:

i'd like to see them both take OFF their joiseys

but that's just me

snuck down
around back
scrawled letters
on a shedding willow

out on the balcony
train should be by
soon

alpine symphony
the heat pipes
groan
lavender river sunrise

poeme electronique

power station
downstream
spawners
floaters
mudsuckers

all drift
all row.

Darkmaas!

A Dmaas post--unedited--I couldn't make it better if I tried. :)

Wot zot
"Daddy
Wot should I draw?"
"How bout a zot."

.......

"k
she eats only
blue grass
under purple skies"

......

"Looks like a horse"
"Her cousin was Ponytail"

......

"I like the spots"
"Not dots
Bug bites"

......

"Well, nice stripes"
"Racy stripes daddy
She's fast"
"Hot zot"

What an onerous challenge. I spent an hour yesterday sifting through that thread and went in again just now.

I just get distracted by the gems in there. I'm never going to be able to clip a cohesive poem.

I throw down my pen/sword and surrender, Ange.

:)

Let's Tease Fawnie!

Words enter,
like breath from a whisper,
in her ear.

nourishing tingles
contagiously spread,
ears to toes,
feeds anguished desire

Feed your desires
From my heart.
Nourish my soul
With your tongue.

Let loose your heart.
Submit your body.
Beg for release.

heart thunders
body cries mercy
surrendered i plead
I BEG!

your hearts
nourishing command
bridals my tongue,
watering soul

Prey,
So sweet and succulent,
Ah, the ambrosia of surrender!

Trouble imagined
Is not so sweet
As conquer attained!

Lit with Desire,
Flames fanned with passion,
Ignite my obsession!

Submission.
The poetry
Of unbridled lust.
You shall beg!

Northward bound,
Mutt bound
Fawnie around
The Bend...

Chains for Mutt,
Silk scarves for Fawnie,
Pleasure for me!
