I agree with the above. Plugs just aren't for every one. Even if you do play with sodomy as a couple, it is a horse of a completely different color when someone is holding a solid mass inside themselves for extended periods of time. You say it is a 'small' plug. I take that to mean it is about the size of a medium egg (yes, no?) Just imagine that for yourself- holding a BM in your cavity the same size. As I said, its just not for everyone. My suggestion is this: you need to really talk to her about whether or not this is something she's simply doing to please you or if it is something she is doing for her own pleasure as well. Get to the bottom of where she is coming from. From there you can determine if this should continue or if it should stop. You should never want to push a sub past her limits if you aren't completely positive she will concede for the right reasons. What's the material the plug is made of? Some of the jellies really aren't so good for the ass. It is easier to use a silicone toy or plastic toy for long periods. Also, being able to hold a plug for hours on end is not a natural talent - it takes cultivation. Also make sure there is plenty of lube.

I suspect the burn she's feeling is plain and simple exhaustion of the sphincter constantly clenching around the buttplug. Material, plug shape, lube, and practice can all have an effect on that. Also try helping her sphincter relax a lot more before and during plugging by using a vibrator, your fingers, or your tongue.

Above all, don't force her into going beyond her limits - that's not productive for anyone.

i too suspect its the material the plug is made out of...

silicone is the best toy material hands down. many jellies can contain a certain type of chemical (which i can't seem to remember) that can be bad for the body. and the nature of the rectum allows it to quickly cause discomfort.

it could also be a lack of lubrication, or that you need to try a different kind of lube. NOT one that desensitizes either...you don't wanna hide pain when that part of the body is involved. pain means something is wrong, and anal should be pleasurable (and/or humilating
