The Amish mostly pick Lancaster county, in Pa. to live. I believe Pa. Dutch is an older term to refer to the large population of German immigrants that settled in Pa. too. The Amish are not all Pa. Dutch.

To sum up....

Not all Amish are Pa. Dutch.

Not all Pa. Dutch are Amish.

Make sense? Not to me, either. I just wish they'd quit using the horse and buggy and stop holding up traffic here.

It came from Pennsylvania Deutch They are, in fact, largely of German heritage.
