Telepathy

Thinking about writing a story where a guy receives the gift of telepathy, allowing him to hear thoughts that are "strong" enough from everyone around him. Lots of potential for all sorts of mental voyeurism, maybe he "overhears" a girl masturbating or a couple fucking, but does anyone else have any other ideas?

What would you do if you could read minds and nobody knew?

Cool idea! As a practical consideration up front, I'd want to know that the gift could be used selectively. There are plenty of people whose thoughts I really don't want to be privy to. The same with your character.

Probably everyone has been in situations where if they would only have known what was on somebody's mind in the next office, etc. they would have been blown away. This is a great opportunity for a creative writer or multiple writers to roll play.

You could have the guy talking about sexual things with a girl so she says out loud one thing and thinks something else.

GUY: My friend had anal sex with his girlfriend for the first time, she loved it.
GIRL: I would never try anal, I don't know why anyone would (Oh my god! I'd love to take it up my ass, why hasn't anyone tried that with me yet?)
