Hey, don't say that-I have an image to maintain  No, if you ever want me to insult anyone on your thread for you well, you know where to find me. Do some more of those pics though-it really was one of the best I've seen-night Sylph
Sorry will try and keep your softer side under wraps from now on.... ;)
Thanx for the compliments, but sheesh..there really are alot of good shots (and bad ones), on some of these Am pic threads. Are u sure u want to make such a bold statement about mine? :rose:

Wow, now you're giving me flashbacks. Although, I have to admit I have been listening to a lot of Iggy Pop and INXS lately. Must be the whole fall, back to school thing.

Yup, i think that is what started it for me too. Well that. and a good old basement clean out. I really need to burn some of these things to CD....playing tapes is rather inconvenient nowadays

Well, I can't tell you everything about your knot, but I can tell you a few things. Because it is of a single path with out beginning or end, it is a symbol of the continuum or eternity. Because it is only a single path, it is probably a fortune charm rather than a love charm. All of the crossings would represent the paths of life, fortune, romance and spirit. A knot that involved symbolizes quite a bit. I'd be interested to find out if it's a traditional design or a new concept.
I think it is a modern take by the artist/jeweler on a traditional design. The pendant itself is definitly not that old. But like u i have only found reference to it being a symbol of unity or eternity. I know that often they were more specific than that. Thanks for the info about the single strand and fortune charm....that i had not considered before.

Dear lord...i don't know whether to take that as a positive or a negative....it does seem some what pathetic that i have posted that many pics in so little time

Then again its tremendously flattering how many people have enjoyed them enough to actually make the effort to post here on my thread....
of course a large # of those posts are my own
....score another for the pathetic, lol.
But then again i know i have some genuine friends here and quite a few devoted fans who get a little smile out of stopping by here....score another for the positive.....
oh dear its a tie

I think it has to be positive babes

The fact that around half the posts on the thread are your own is not pathetic but shows that you appreciate what your fans are posting and are responding to them individually.

Score for positive

Posting so many pics that we all love so much......

Definately a score for positive

Now as for your fans getting a little smile from stopping at your thread....that is putting it mildly......make that a huge smile and a huge...hehehe you now what i mean

Score for positive

SO FINAL SCORE IS : POSITIVE : 3.......PATHETIC : 0

:rose:

Embarrassed? I'm confused as to why.

Ah, your high school years were just enough after mine to make a difference musically.
Embarassed, well if u have already forgotten that i called 'Disturbed" , "New Disturbed" and made them into a band from the UK....well i'm not going to remind you.
Oh wait i just did...argh.

Ah another refernce to the age thing....I doubt it made that much of a difference. My older brothers probably made me listen to whatever was popular during your high school days...assuming u aren't secretly 100 or something ;)

Remember when you and ran were posting "copy" pics over at my thread and Ran said that with the flexibility of you two, you have to be related.....well here is further proof

sylph : Coming from the Greek word sylpha meaning butterfly

LOL.......my poetry would be a little different...something like

Hickory, Dickory, Dock
My hands ran up your frock..... :D

I'll have to dig deeper and see what other meanings i can cum up with

Well seeing as how that one means butterfly.....here is a pic for you of a lower back tattoo that i think is gorgeous for a woman that is

How about this meaning then???

SYLPH, an imaginary spirit of the air; according to Paracelsus, the first modern writer who uses the word, an air-elemental, coming between material and immaterial beings. In current usage, the term is applied to a feminine spirit or fairy, and is often used in a figurative sense of a graceful, slender girl or young woman.

Then there is another definition which relates to the online game called The Reincarnation and it goes like this

Sylph

Sylphs are beautiful, humanoid women with wings like the dragonfly. Their translucent wings are four feet long. They have long blue or green hair. Their voices are extremely musical. They are related to the elemental plane of air. They do not fight, but their magical nature allows them to use magic to ward off intruders. Since all sylphs are female, they must seek out human males in order to mate.

But you dont look like the online gamer type, so i doubt if this one is for you....

So my choice is this one
graceful, slender girl or young woman

Ok, i know i posted about this song once before...but tonight u get the lyrics

I just love the idea behind these words...the thought of someone trying to put u back together when everything has fallen apart.
Its not the putting back together that really matters, just that someone would want to try...and that is enough :rose:
Should really work on getting me one of those someones
(disclaimer: no pm's about being 'that someone', lol)

Coldplay~Fix You

When you try your best but you don't succeed
When you get what you want but not what you need
When you feel so tired but you can't sleep
Stuck in reverse

And the tears come streaming down your face
When you lose something you can't replace
When you love someone but it goes to waste
Could it be worse?

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

And high up above or down below
When you're too in love to let it go
But if you never try you'll never know
Just what you're worth

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you

Tears stream down your face
when you lose something you cannot replace
Tears stream down your face
And I

Tears stream down your face
I promise you I will learn from my mistakes
Tears stream down your face
And I

Lights will guide you home
And ignite your bones
And I will try to fix you
