Teachers union authorizes 1.7M members to strike

One of the nation's largest teachers unions has authorized local chapters to go on strike if their school systems try to reopen without a plan that the meets union standards for safety, Politico reported.

The American Federation of Teachers will provide legal, financial, and staffing support to local chapters that go on strike, as the school year approaches amid significant disagreement between teachers and some state and local governments about whether to start the school year in-person or only online.

I don't want those useless indoctrination centers to reopen ever again. Can you imagine the hell that little white kids are going to be put through this Fall if they reopen? Teachers are going to be making them bow before non-white students and plead for "forgiveness" for existing. That will be on the first day. It will get worse from there. Beyond that their physical safety from emboldened anti-white racists will be in grave danger between classes and on the playground.

All Washington, D.C., public schools will begin the year virtually on Aug. 31 until at least Nov. 6, Mayor Muriel Bowser’s office announced Thursday.

Students who do not have Internet access or a computer at home will be provided with the necessary technology, the mayor’s office said. Schools Chancellor Lewis Ferebee said D.C. had been collecting data from more than 13,000 respondents and found 44 percent of students do not have access to a device at home.

Bowser seemed to allude to the union's unwillingness to return to the classroom as a factor in the district’s decision to return virtually.

“You know, I’m just going to speak candidly, if we don’t have teachers who want to come in person, we would have to find another set of adults who want to come in person,” Bowser said, according to WTOP.
