As I have waxed lyrical about this band (Rammstein) before, I won't go on and on again, except to say that the track Te quiero puta! on Rosenrot is probably the *funniest* thing I have ever heard.

I never thought I'd hear a German accent singing Spanish!

Lyrics and translation here

PS: Yes, I know what the title means.

They have SUCH intelligent lyrics. I've not listened to their songs myself, it was enough to hear them roar in the TV commercial.

"Ben-seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen! Ben-seeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeen!"

The lyrics are easy to learn, it's the roaring-like-an-elk-in-heat that's the tricky part to get right.

*eyeroll*

"Benzin" is actually a track on the world (specifically America) and it's dependance on petrol/gas

Benzin - Petrol

Rammstein always makes me wonder why this of all bands around here had to become so famous. Like you go somewhere, and as soon as people hear you are German they want to talk about Rammstein. Why not talk about Bach?

See, if they had sung it instead of bellowed it, I would have understood that by now. :p

Been to any good Bach-conserts lately? :)

No me gusto.

seriously, the eloquence of the language is completely insulted here- it's like pig-Spanish or something. Why bother?

pssst! Te quiero isn't "I love you"...regardless of what the web site says. ;)

If the translation isn't right then there's an e-mail addy on there to TELL THEM that.

Ok, what have I been singing on the bus exactly?

It's not that the trenslation is bad, it's just that it's so minimal and ignorant, like first-year Spanish class.
You said you never expected to hear Spanish sung with a German accent- what they are singing is the most minimal Spanish, like tourist spanish. I don't speak Spanish well at all, but- this is so simplistic and imbecilic, and that is so at odds with the big Industrial Sound, you know? Rhyming "amor" and "sabor" is like rhyming "moon' and "june" it's so fucking easy that no one will do it.
" Más más más por favor
Más más más sí sí señor "
aye, que merde!
Plus all the rolling of his 'r's is... obnoxious. It's like a sneering joke. You roll with just the lightest touch, really. A litle more for emphasis, but to go on like that-

That's only my opinion, and I could be too sensitive. I dunno.

it is of course possible they did it all on purpose, for the sake of irony. but then, i doubt it. somehow they don't seem all that ironic to me. but then, the last time i listened to anything by them i was about sixteen, i think.
