Underprovided? Hmmm, I guess this is part of the plan for those who think taxes are merely a legal obligation. They don't see the folks who are affected by underpaying or not paying taxes.

Like the very wealthy, who are tax averse, and their underpaying can add up to significant amounts of under funding. Funding used to provide food and shelter to poverty stricken families.

People think of taxes as the "income tax" or property tax,
vehicles which they can be sheer majority voting blocks,
without realizing the the repercussion of punitive taxation
is that the cost of said taxation is embedded in every
product (goos or services) at a rate of 30+%. (Details

I don't have a problem funding government at a reasonable level for civic services. At its core that's the purpose of taxation.

Where I begin to have a problem is when government decides that my stuff is their stuff and I have to pay extortion in the form of taxes. And then gov tells me that I have to pay EVEN MORE so that someone else can pay less, or nothing at all, or worst of all, gov gives some of my tax dollars to deadbeats as cash. And if I don't pay it, I'M the bad guy and gov can TAKE my stuff from me.

Income/capital gains/sales taxes I'm ok with, they are honest and upfront. The wealth/property taxes that make you rent the property you've already paid for from the state? That commie fuckin' bullshit should be illegal.

Every year ....the process of doing it sucks! It's too complicated. On the day I do it, that is when I think a straight flat tax, or just a bracket rate, would simplify filing.

In the beginning, all land belonged to the State. The State conveyed/sold/transferred the land under "land contracts" to private individuals. Those land contracts gave the private individual ALL the rights to the land and the State retained NONE. Subsequent purchases of that land also received all rights under the deed unless the prior owner retained them by writing those retrictions/covenants into the deed the new owner receives after the sale.

Yet today, the State says that they did indeed retain rights to the land in the form of an unstated Right of Reverter. (Which means that if you don't pay the extortion fee/tax on the land, it reverts, or goes back, to the State.) This Right of Reverter binds every successive owner of the land in perpetuity yet isn't within the deed to the land anywhere.

This is the most basic form of breach of contract as well as fraud on the part of the State. Not only that, it also violates the takings clause of the Constitution every time the State seizes property for nonpayment of taxes. The unfortunate aspect of it is that no court will side with the property owner because that would mean that a major funding source for the State (and the courts) would be eliminated and that's against the self interests of those who impose the illegal covenant.
