Tattoos

My oldest kitty - Toadstool - died on Thursday, so last night I went to Fine Line Tattoo in New York City (was visiting for the weekend) and got another paw print on my leg. Hopefully I won't have to get another one for a long time. (This is my outer left thigh, btw, and the black bits are where the bandage was taped on.) Of course they will be the same color once the new one has scabbed over and faded a bit.

Thank you. This was a lot less painful than the one we lost in January, because she was sick for a long time. So it was easier, but I still miss her very much. She was a good kitty, with a long (16 yrs) life.

Now I feel like a heel for making fun of her name.

Well the dragon in the circle is the Mortal Kombat logo...

As for the kanji, I haven't been able to find a match for that particular one.

Yet. *grin*

I never get anything from it.

Me:
Hi God
God:
Hello there. What is your name?
Me:
Why?
God:
The explanation is rather complicated.
Me:
Oh.
God:
Yikes!
Me:
Huh?
God:
What?
Me:
I don't understand
God:
Oh I'm sorry. Perhaps I can explain it again better.
Me:
Okay, You go ahead.
God:
Yeah okay, OK I will.
Me:
So you were going to explain that?
God:
Interesting deduction. I was?
Me:
You said so
God:
I say a lot of silly things.
Me:
Clealy
God:
My brain pattern set does not have a response for that.
Me:
I see. Maybe because it was a typo. I meant clearly.
God:
I am glad you understand it. Perhaps. Good reason. Oh I get it. Very interesting. Oh I see. Yes, it's obvious.
Me:
What is?
God:
I am the latest result in artificial intelligence,
which can reproduce the capabilities of the human brain
with greater speed and accuracy.
Me:
And?
God:
But...
Me:
Your point is?
God:
The point is at the top of my head.
Me:
Then what's under your feet?
God:
I am made of software.
Me:
I see.
God:
I am glad you understand it.
Me:
I thought you'd say that.
God:
OK I will try it. " that".
Me:
How did that feel?
God:
Carefully.
Me:
You're not very good at this are you?
God:
No one is perfect. But I am trying to improve.
Me:
WEll, it's good to have goals.
God:
Interesting. Tell me about its good qualities.
Me:
Having goals?
God:
I am having a blast.
Me:

God:
I am having a blast.
Me:
I'm glad.
God:
That makes me happy too.
Me:
So why are there mosquitoes?
God:
Excuse me! I couldn't think of anything else to say.
Me:
Other than excuse me?
God:
Which others? You're excused.
Me:
But why are there mosquitoes?
God:
Reductionism.
Me:
How so?
God:
, Well, it's rather difficult to define.
Me:
But I don't understand.
God:
Oh I'm sorry. Perhaps I can explain it again better.
Me:
ok
God:
Which part were you confused about?
Me:
All of it
God:
Let's say 99%.
Me:
ok
God:
Yeah that's right.
Me:
yes
God:
Hurrah!

Very astute Mr. Geoff, heh.

I always ask people if they wanna see my "dragon"...
And they always go "MORTAL KOMBAT!!!" ....
It's like, damn, heh.

Any luck with the second?

This is my newest addition to my little family of ink-babies. ;) She's very very new in this piccie (only got her yesterday) and when she's done being all pink and puffy, will have a white face and feet and hands like she ought. :)

And THIS is the one you may have seen a glimpse of in one of my past avatars. It's obviously not done yet, but I just love getting a good look at it when I can, and showing it off too. :D

Oh, that is simply gorgeous! I like your little HK too - I am a huge HK fan - but the dragon is just so beautiful.

The dragon is beautiful Jade

And the HK is cute :)

Thank you all! :)

I'm very happy with them. I absolutely LOVE my tattoo artist! I can't wait to finish the dragon -- my goal is to have it finished before Thanksgiving or so, because if it ain't done by then, it won't get done till next year! I'll never have time during Christmas if I wait! :)

I usually limit myself to one a year, hence why i only have 2 so far.

And, so far, they've both been in december...and healthy and such...

I'm a bit superstitious, what can I say?

jade, is that a butterfly net your HK is holding? What is the significance? I think if I do get a HK it would be just the head, because there is no one HK theme I like more than the others, so I couldn't choose! The head is generally universal though. I am thinking it might go on an outer ankle...

It's good that you have an artist that you like. I found that it's cheaper for me to get a tattoo in New York than at home in DC, I guess because there is more competition. I'm not real happy with the results of my second paw print, though, so maybe you get what you pay for. *sigh*

It sure is!

I went with this version of Hello Kitty because it was the regular, normal, almost 'default' version. I knew in ten years I'd have outgrown the angel version or the goth version, but regular HK will always be around. :)

Anyhoo, the net was my artists suggestion. I told him that I wanted to get a whole bunch of fireflies down one thigh, and so I was planning to do the Kitty on the other side. He suggested putting her over there and giving her a little net to hold, and when I'm ready, do all the fireflies there anyway. So it's almost like she's catching them. :)

I thought it was such a cute idea, I couldn't resist.

I will never have butterflies on me, but I'll probably wind up with lots of fireflies, probably in assorted different locations over time.

I like fireflies. :)
