The Kanji is the symbol for perfection (the egotist in me) overlaying it is the Taurus. Meaning that the description for Taurus is a perfect description for me. I got it done at a place called H and H here is Clovis
Dar! Thanks so much for bearing it all and putting up pics of these really elegant tats. The above is my favorite. I like the way the Kanji floats above the Taurus. I also like that there's a rainbow effect linking all of your tats together--similar greens, blue, pinks. Is the Lambda going to have a rainbow look to it as well?

Looking forward to seeing the new ones. I really like the current one. The best one I've seen was on this terrifyingly huge biker at the convention. He was bald with a goatee, and had about a foot tall magic kingdom (in bright baby blue), along with Mickey, Goofy, & Donald Duck. It was incredible work, but more than that, I can't imagine something looking more out of place. :D

Thanks ;)

Lol, I know what you mean. I saw pictures in a tattoo mag of a biker that had the entire city of Minas Tirith (Lord Of The Rings) tattooed on his back. The detail was incredible, and apparently took over 100 hours to complete. No word about the cost.

I think we need more pictures here! S-Des, Stella, Cloudy, get those digital cameras out! These stories are great but now you've got us wanting to see this stunning artwork.
here's the bunny;
http://stellaomega.com/poudlard/jackrabbit.jpg He is an illustration to an old story; "The Dollar Watch and The Five Jackrabbits" by Carl Sandburg. He's the fifth jackrabbit-- the one with spots and stripes. the other four were spotted. In the story, the first four jump over the highest skyscraper in town. This one jumps-- and never comes back, just keeps going on and on, and up and up.

The dragons are positioned over what you might call... unsightly flab. Not that I mind really, but it makes it hard to see. let me figure out how to get a decent pic... must cater to vanity, just a little bit!

Like this? Damn, I need a tan!

I must have an extremely high pain tolerance, or that buzzing on my spine got to me, because with my last one (the tribal butterfly), I fell asleep while the guy was working on it.

It is going to look embossed onto my skin with the full six color rainbow. I want to finish it next payday 7/15/07

I'm not sure. Freedom, I think. What are you waiting for? ;)
Well, getting my idea drawn...and then deciding to endure the pain

I have designed and applied many tattoos also. I love drawing out people's ideas and am very good at it. I hate the idea of mass produced body art.

It doesn't really hurt like some say it does.

Don't get me wrong, it hurts, but when those endorphins kick in....bzzzzzzzzzz. :D

I totally missed the endorphin high. When that needle went through my nipple, I nearly puked.

I imagine it's very different, though. I had my bellybutton pierced years ago, but it barely registered when they pushed it through. Nipples, on the other hand, are a little more....sensitive. ;)

Plus, getting a tat can be a lengthy process, gives your body time to compensate.

If you're thinking of getting kanji, kana, or any other ideograms tattooed, be sure to go to Hanzi Smatter. Tian has a long history of translating tattoos (which rarely seem to say what people think).

Lovely. And the story behind this sizzling lightning bolt 29?
back in '94 I was a Foot Locker manager... my assistant manager was a huge Steeler fan, I'm a huge Charger fan.

Those two matched up in the AFC championship game. We made a bet... we'd both get tats after the game and the one whose team lost the game would pay for them.

Dave did pay, but he didn't get a Steeler tat... instead, he got an Iowa Hawkeye on his ankle.

Okay, that accounts for the Charger lightning bolt...but what about XXIX....for those of us who aren't up on football?

The endorphin high when I got my nipple pierced was great! I was bouncing off the walls for hours afterward.

I don't recall anything like that after tattooing, but it was really more irritating than painful.

By winning that game the Chargers appeared in the Super Bowl vs. the 49er's...

Super Bowl XXIX in Miami. January 1995.

I keep trying to find someone that will draw me a chinese dragon... either in red and gold.... or green and gold
