I have been reading erotica for almost 20 years, on and off. Mostly, during weekends and holidays. And at some point, I did jolt down some short erotic stories myself (thanks to Nancy Friday. Love her writing !)

I hate flying. Rather, I am scared to fly. The best erotica reading memories are from vacation-train-journeys (long distance). Off-late, I think I developed sort of a reader's block and now can't finish a full chapter in one sitting. I even tried a adult-joke book, but couldn't even finish it.

Hence, I upgraded myself into the digital world of soft porn. Now, trying to sync myself to it.

The query I have is, that most of the available porn movies follow a very routine format (walk in, say hi, take off clothes, start oral, pump for 10 minutes, ejaculate), no turn on at all. All very explicit, no room for viewer's imagination or fantasizing at all. Some of the scenes are categorically annoying (choking, gaping, facial...)

So, I think this is more of a concern-sharing than a how-to question. The concern is, which stores / what type of stores have some tasteful erotic movies ? Something that can establish some kind of connection to real human experiences ?

I am going to assume you mean movies, in which case Adam and Eve sell somewhat erotic movies, they are porn for couples. Still full of well porn which I get the feeling you don't like and I don't blame you.

Now if you are after movies where there is sex and not porn sex, your choices are rather limited. There are some movies made with full sex, not that many, Shortbus, 9 Songs, and Lie with Me are the only ones I can think of. They don't get advertised very much in the places I look.

However there is a rather large assortment of the Cinemax late night movies, every Friday and I think Saturday Cinemax has an adult section, the movies are not porn, they don't exactly leave anything out but you don't see dicks or penetration, there is a story, usually a pretty basic story unless they have improved in the last 5 years but it is more porn in the way you want than anything else I've come across.

Though I have to admit the japanese porn is closer to actual sex than porn, since they can't show genitals without digitizing it the porn sex isn't all about showing dick sliding in and out of the pussy. They are however really into the rape stories so it's kinda hard to get away from those, I can't even remember the last time I found one that doesn't include some mild rape. Not that I'm complaining but it's not for everybody.

I always wondered; why Japanese are allowed to shoot porn, but banned from showing relevant body parts !

thanks for the movie suggestions. Movies seems to be the only solution. But I remember watching some European films for mature audience, that had soft erotic adult themes.

Would there be a way to subscribe to European adult movies from the U.S. ?

Nancy Friday was an author who got me turned on too. "My Secret Garden" was the one that I really got caught up in. You are correct about the US porn industry though. There is no intro to anyone, no real theme. Just walk in, off come the clothes, and go from there. Fuck, suck, maybe pee, and it's all over.
Porn from Europe is much, much better. At least they don't overdo it in the first three minutes of the movie. German and Dutch porn seems to be the best.

Porn for women

You may want to check out Candida Royalle's Femme Productions which do adult films from a woman's perspective. The site describes their movies as "sensually explicit", and that they are less graphic with story lines and real characters of all ages. Considered by many to be movies for couples.

I have watched some of their movies before (many years ago) and I remember them as being romantic rather than sexual. I do have the memory of a goldfish though...so I could be misremembering.
