Nicholas' words hit Alyria like a truck and she suddenly felt irrationally guilty and hurt like she had just stabbed her best friend in the back. She silently cursed herself and her loyalties as she watched him remove the camera. This both confused and worried her but she kept her silence and was relieved when he left. She touched her hair and face tenderly where Nicholas had been both violent and gentle with her. She winced as she brushed her cheek, he had hit her quite hard this time and she could already feel it swelling.
Then something happened that made Aly gasp in shock - the bloody lights went out! At first she thought she'd gone blind but quickly realized how stupid that thought really was. He must have the light switch upstairs somewhere, she looked around and couldn't see a thing! She groped for her ankle chain and ran her hands along it until she reached the bed post. She pulled herself closer to the thick wooden post til her nose was practically touching it, she squinted, she blinked and nothing! She couldn't see it's form, she held her hand up and tried the same technique - nothing!
Aly sat back on the bed and sighed in frustration, she couldn't see anything and she hadn't heard a thing outside this room since she'd arrived.
"So this is sensory deprivation huh?" Aly muttered to herself as she did when she was alone at home.
Alyria knew the rules of this one; can't see, can't hear, don't know if it's day or night, what time or day it is or how much time has passed.
Aly groaned and threw herself back onto the bed "great! Just great!" Aly laid there grumbling.
While she lived alone, Aly was never really alone because her friends, family and boyfriend were always in and out. Aly knew this would drive her crazy, nothing to do but sleep and think! She never let her mind idle because it drove her up the wall with restlessness.
"So Nicholas really did think this through...and got creative with it. Damn!" Aly hissed, she was already wondering if ten minutes had passed or just two?
She started kicking the bed post, the rattling of the ankle chain soon became a creepy unwelcome noise however and she was forced to stop. She continuously rolled over; switching between lying on her stomach and back. She screamed in frustration a few times but soon gave that up too as it did little, she was attempting to exhaust herself enough to sleep and keep from thinking but her mind inevitably returned to Nicholas' words.
She started to cry as she thought of her boyfriend - Ben, she had treated him like shit lately despite his best efforts to please her. It wasn't his fault, he loved her and she couldn't love him back so now she truly believed that Nicholas was right, that Ben would in fact be relieved to see her gone.
"I have to maintain his interest? Well I've got it now! How do I make him lose it then?! Prove myself? I can't even stand him right now, I have to earn the right to use the fuckin' bathroom?! And cherishing me? He cherishes me? This is cherishing me?!" Aly spoke into the darkness; lying on her back. "Can't believe I cared about that rat bastard, stupid!" She slammed her palm against her forehead.
"How the fuck can I prove myself when you leave me literally in the fuckin' dark you prick!" Aly screamed her rage at Nicholas; quite unaware of the fact that he could hear her every word.
Alyria felt restless again and rolled onto her stomach, she cupped her face in her hands and instantly winced in pain.
"Ow! Mother fucker!" Aly sat bolt upright and tenderly touched her bruised cheek; her eyes watering. "Yeah I really feel like a princess, thanks oh so much Nicholas! Thanks for being worthy of me!" She raised her voice at the end as though she thought he might hear her.
She was careful not to brush or hit her cheek as she laid down on her back again. Aly burst out crying again for no reason other than the fact that she felt utterly helpless.
She concentrated her thoughts again; stop crying right now! When the tears stopped she began to consider other ways of passing the time so as she was here she decided to list her pro's and con's of being a sub.
"Sex is definitely a pro...depending on the guy, having no use for my intelligence is a con. Having someone make the hard choices for me is a pro, having no control over my life at all is a con. Security...swings either way...family..." Aly stopped, she had wondered about that one alot because while she didn't want children yet she did one day and she couldn't remember if she had ever told Nicholas.
"I'm not even considering my emotions yet...love? What about friends? Con if I have no one outside Nicholas."
Alyria started drifting in and out of fitful slumber, she figured that rationally it had been maybe 12 hours? Though it felt like forever. She tried counting to pass the time and reached 1076 before she gave it up. She recited landmarks, pieces of art, notable figures of history and played memory games she'd learned in primary school aloud trying to pass more time. Finally she gave it all up and just started swearing until she got sick of the sound of her own voice. Then her stomach started growling audibly and she groaned and whimpered.
"Oh fuck! How long are you going to leave me here?!" She screamed with a whine in her voice although she knew Nicholas couldn't hear her.
As Nicholas' timer signalled the 17 hour mark, Alyria really started to worry because she suddenly realized she actually needed to use the toilet now. Aly curled up, she crossed her legs, she did everything and anything to alleviate the pressure that was building in her bladder. Shouldn't have had so much to drink last night!...Is it still yesterday?...How long have I been in here?!
"Even maximum security prisoners get the use of toilets and showers! Or maybe I'll just piss myself and wreak til you give a shit?!" Sometimes Alyria surprised herself with her language when she was angry, the profanities just wouldn't stop coming now.
Her stomach kept her awake, she grew hungrier with every minute because she had nothing else to concentrate on. Stockholm; she thought to herself, I'm dependent on him.
A degrading thought struck Alyria; that she might not be able to hold her bladder until Nicholas reappeared, "Oh God please don't let that happen to me! I'll die!" Alyria sobbed, praying that she'd be able to hold on and not embarress herself further.
Alyria felt so angry and so helpless, she tried to measure how long the ankle chain was and she guessed it was just under a metre in length, she'd barely make it a step from the bed post let alone across the room to the toilet.
The silence was deafening to Alyria by now, she'd thought she could get used to it over time just as she'd thought her eyes would adjust however slightly to the darkness but nothing ever unveiled, her pupils simply couldn't adjust to this kind of pitch black. It felt almost as though she was in a void, she hadn't imagined that this could do so much damage to her but it was all consuming now and she was almost at her wits end trying to concentrate on holding her bladder and staving off the hunger pains.
"Asshole! " She screamed again and then started to cry, her voice softened to almost a whisper "Please, don't leave me here anymore...I hate it..."
She ended up curled into the fetal position and started whispering "Please come back...please? I don't want to be in the dark anymore..." Aly hated the dark as a child and it seemed Tameka didn't like it much either. "I'll be a good girl..." Aly wasn't lying, she felt like she had been in this room for a week and while she knew she was giving in; she just didn't care as much, she needed to eat and she needed to go bad!
"I'm sorry!...I'm sorry...don't let this happen to me..." She finished in a whisper as unknown to Alyria; Nicholas' timer clicked to tell him there was fifteen minutes left.
Aly admitted defeat, she didn't think she could give herself to Nicholas, she still hated him but she'd massage almost anything if it meant light, food and avoiding total humiliation. Alyria was muttering inaudibly for the next ten minutes, trying to convince herself that she could do this as her stomach growled painfully to signal it had been almost two days since she had eaten. She whimpered in pain as the unknown timer clicked - five minutes left.
"You win Master." Alyria whispered clearly.
