Synonym, please...

I've tried Thesaurus.com, but it didn't want to cooperate with me. I need a name for a group of fanatic immortals who will do anything, including murder, to prevent any mortals from becoming immortal. (In the story, immortality can be passed from an immortal to a mortal.) I was going to call the fanatics "the Purists", but then I remembered that was the name of the anti-Tenctonese humans in Alien Nation, so I need a different name. Any suggestions?

I think it would be difficult to top Impressive's suggestion. In the generic you could call it a "cabal."

Just to offer a shorter, if perhaps less elegant, alternative, I found this on greekmythology.com (can't locate my Edith Hamilton right now):

The Creation of Man by Prometheus

Prometheus and Epimetheus were spared imprisonment in Tartarus because they had not fought with their fellow Titans during the war with the Olympians. They were given the task of creating man. Prometheus shaped man out of mud, and Athena breathed life into his clay figure.

So, man is made from mud and the fanatic immortals are hell-bent on keeping him in his place. What say you to the "Muddites?"

Combination of revenant and "-cide" - to kill.

Revenicidals sounds funny and not all that serious.

So you have to shorten it somehow. But Revenant is a nice solid-sounding scary death word.

Deathless always sounds ominous to me.

Struldbrug is technically the existing term, but in much SF they are referred to as the "Gerentocracy".

I don't believe there is a socio-political term for a genocidal regime, other than "genocidal regime" - genocidal conflict is typically assumed in the term fascism, which could give you "geronto-fascist", or maybe "gerontocist".
