Wow, what a gorgeous day in the MW.
While waiting for my oil change and messing around on my phone I realize the time has come. I need to switch phones. The one I'm using has been appropriately abused over the last couple of years and turns itself off and on all willy nilly.
It's a "smartphone" and I'm probably more dependent on my apps, bookmarks, contacts and the like.. than I know. If you've ever been through this, you likely understand.
I feel fortunate that I have the opportunity to move, save & recover stuff before I ditch this one. And the new one has been used on occasion so I don't want to lose anything there either. I know this seems that I'm stressing needlessly but I've lost some important stuff if the past. In fact last time, I dutifully sat on the phone with a Samsung Rep and at her instruction, moved each and every file, pic, app .. to my SD card. I removed the itty bitty SD card, secured it in my wallet momentarily and when I replaced it found it had reformatted, I lost 80% of the information secured there.
So...does anyone have any tips to avoid discomfort or loss in this process? I don't feel visiting a local att store is an option, might be some stuff I don't want to share with a complete stranger .. unless he is about 23 years and European with a two day growth of beard and dark tousled hair, piercing blue eyes, muscles straining against his shirt sleeves and his youthful manhood testing the inseams of his slacks.. and an affinity for a petite blonde milf! But I digress...
