Time for more scenery shots! I can't help myself with all the other beautiful outdoor shots that have been popping up here. I am officially in love with this are of Switzerland! It's a town called Lauterbrunnen, close to Interlaken if that helps anyone, lol. Breathtaking scenery, extremely friendly people, great food...it's bliss! Hiking, ice climbing, moutain climbing, canyoning, rafting, skiing...it has everything! I know, I sound like a tour guide, no? It has just captured my heart, I can't help it! I've been there twice now and see it becoming my haven for when I need to get away. There is so much more there for me to explore!

Hope ya'll enjoy too. Maybe someday I'll get around to posting other kinds of scenery, hehe ;)

A shot from downtown...

Some of the moutains surrounding the glacier valley the town is in...

The title of this one was all I could think of when we saw this the day we headed to Trummelbach Falls, hehe.

At the top of the first range, looking down the gondola wires that take you back down to Wengen, then Lauterbrunnen...

Mount Eiger. Talk about feeling insignificant in the face of Nature...and yes, I will conquer it before I leave Europe! I'd better start training my lazy ass now, eh? :)

More of the range Eiger is in. I think these two guys are Wetterhorn and Schreckhorn...

A view from the gondola ride back down...

Beautiful shots Mae!!! I still hope it'll be possible for me to go hiking with you there sometime in the spring.

A view from my campground...oh it was so rough waking up to this view every morning :D

The second time I went we all stayed in a smaller town called Boltigen. This is a view from the place there.

A view from inside Trummelbach Falls. I guess this is the largest waterfall through ground in Europe, or some such thing. It was quite an experience, you could feel the thrumming of the water through the stone walls...very womblike.

And more...I took tons of pics in here, but I'll only subject you guys to a couple of them :)

Let's see...what else can I show you? The first day we got there a couple of us went scrambling up a hill (or small mountain, depending on who you ask, lol!) and found a couple nice little waterfall pools to frolic in, this is the first one!

And the last!

Last one for you...this was the second fall we found. This one was a hell of a scramble to get up to, a very faint game trail was all we had to get us up most of the hill. We came out pretty scratched and covered in all sorts of organic stuff, but it was sooooo worth it :)

A good night to you Lit!
*hugs*

Thanks Mae,

From a sunny day in the midwest, to the mountains, oh how sweet. When I was younger I spent time every winter in the Rockies. These shots sure send me down memory lane. Beautiful pictures of a place where dreams are made.

Mae,

As always, your shots are breathtaking. Thank you for sharing them with us.

thanks for the pics mae absolutely stunning
its at times like this that one feels in awe of mother nature and all her beauty, you must be feeling privilliged to have seen such a work of art?

Your back

the pictures were lovely unfortunately I never got the chance to see any of the sites out there while I was there. Hopefully I will get the chance to go there again.

Oh Mae I am soo jealous.:) Your pics are great. So glad you're enjoying your time there. If a haven is needed, I don't think you'll find a better one.

Be well,
