FWIW - I see nothing wrong with the length of her posts. Her answers seem to be well thought out and genuinely helpful. I may sometimes have differing opinions, but I enjoy her contributions to this board. I say - carry on, Sweet E!

I mean, I don't believe I've posted in your numerous threads, so there can't be a problem there; it also seems like most people here have enough mental capacity and restraint to just scroll down the page or put people they don't enjoy reading on ignore.

Is there just something about me that FORCES you to read what I write, keep me off of you Ignore list, or hang around in this forum, aimouse?

The interesting thing is, this thread says way more about your character (or lack thereof) than it will ever say about its target. I'll take being long-winded over being a small-minded jackass who has nothing better to do than try to put humiliate or people down, and get others to do the same, with mean-spirited, General Board-style drivel, any day of the week.

I think the general gist of it is someone asks for advise and Erika responds with something constructive and helpful. Generally answering the question asked fully.

There's nothing wrong with that, only right things about someone who can care about a stranger.

I remember one of Erika's posts that only had two sentences.

That said, I'll say what others have said.

Erika gives well thought out and constructive advice. She doesn't limit it to a few words that would mean nothing without the thoughts behind them like so many others.

So what the heck is wrong with that? If you don't want to read what she has to say, then don't read it. No one is forcing you to.

If what she has to say bugs you, then don't read it or put her on ignore.

This is an advice board here in How To. Not every question can be answered with one sentence or one paragraph.

Maybe it would be better if you chose to hang out somewhere else, like the General Board. Cut throat brevity seems to be the norm over there. Sounds like the perfect place for you.

Overwhelmingly I agree with SweetErika.

If I do agree with something she says, I generally tell her. If I don't I generally tell her that too.
Nobody's perfect (especially me) so I think we all have room to grow.

As far as a short answer. My question is: Should brevity be a priority? If so, why?

Does the time that someone spends online in this forum have a bearing on their helpfulness in this realm? I think not.

While I don't agree with everything that SweetErika says, I do respect her and I believe that she gives people advice that she believes will help them.

If you measured someone by their heart, then SweetErika would probably have a pretty high measurement on this forum. Most people are assholes. At least SweetErika is trying to do the right thing.

I know...y'all will see me bust her ass about something I disagree with tomorrow (or the next day, or the next day), but I'll still stand behind my comments. If 10% of the people on this site full of dumbasses cared as much about people as SweetErika does, it would be a better site.

For what it's worth I would like to say that I thought aimouse's post was meant in jest. However, if it wasn't I think he made a big mistake. Recently I started a thread in which I genuinely asked for advice. If I had gotten only one word, or one sentence replies it would have been useless. I agree with the other posters who say that SweetErika's posts are thoughtful, well researched and well worth reading.
